In 2001 Islamofascist terrorists hijacked Flight 93 murdering 40 people on board. There were no Islamic people on that flight. There were Islamofascist terrorists. What possible reason could be there for including anything Islamic or anything even resembling an Islamic symbol into Flight 93 Memorial? Inclusion of Islamic symbols memorializes murderers who brought down the plane and is tantamount to spitting in the faces of victims and their families. United Airlines Flight 93 was hijacked in 2001. Let's not allow hijacking of Flight 93 Memorial in 2008. We, as Americans, owe it to the heroes of Flight 93!

Thank you for stopping over at my site and commenting. I appreciate your comment, so I came to visit your site. I really like what you've done with the blogburst! How did you do that? lol. Anyway, I shall add your site to my sidebar at Rosemary's News and Ideas. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for your support! We didn't do the blogburst, it was done by these guys.
Thanks for helping to spread the word about this sneaky memorial to the 9/11 terrorists. The official explanation for the design is that the flight path breaks the circle and turns it into this giant crescent (originally called the Crescent of Embrace). We had a hundred people email the Memorial Project last week demanding that they tell us WHO is being depicted as breaking the circle.
Of course it can only be the terrorists. The circle is a symbol of peace, and it was the terrorists who broke the peace on 9/11. So the terrorists break our peaceful circle and turn it into a giant Islamic-shaped crescent that just happens to point to Mecca. A more obvious depiction of al Qaeda victory would be hard to imagine.
If this plot succeeds, it will be a big victory for those who interpret Islam as a religion of mass murder and world conquest, but if reform-minded Muslims can help stop it, it will be a big victory for reform, and would show America that the effort to reform Islam is potent.
"if reform-minded Muslims can help stop it"
We'll do what we can. Unfortunately nobody seems to want to hear what we have to say. 9 out of 10 times you see a Muslim on TV, he/she isn't a moderate.
Tom Burnett and I might be able to get you on TV. Tom's trek to Somerset to protest this desecration of his son's gravesite will likely bring out the national media, which gave some coverage to his protests a few months ago.
One of our goals this trip is to direct the news coverage to independent fact checking. If you want to fact check a couple of our basic claims like the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent, or the placement of the 9/11 date on a separate section of Memorial Wall that is centered on the bisector of the giant crescent, in exactly the position of the star on a crescent and star flag (both very easy to verify), we can direct the press to that.
Indeed, I think they would be particularly interested in covering your view, since you could be expected to have some background knowledge and credibility on questions like the Islamic significance of a crescent that a person faces into to face Mecca.
This would give you an opportunity to distinguish the good from the bad in the Islamic world, and make clear that we can't help the good people in the Islamic world by turning a blind eye to the bad. This is very much the problem we are facing. When I tried to talk to the editor of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review about the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent, his response was: "Do you hate all Muslims?"
The defenders of the crescent design see themselves as showing goodwill toward Islam when they refuse to consider the possibility of untoward intent. No. That is goodwill toward al Qaeda!
What do you think? Want to go on TV?
Thanks for visiting, and leaving your comment. Like rosemary, I like what your blog has to say, and am adding it to my "Blogs I Read" list.
K., can you drop me an email? I seem to have lost your email address and would like to get in touch.
Eitan.
