A SELF-STYLED Muslim Sheik has chained himself to the steps of a Sydney courthouse in a bid to convey his message of peace. Sheik Haron appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court today charged with sending harassing letters to the families of dead Australian soldiers, The Daily Telegraph reported. As the Daily Telegraph revealed last month, Sheik Haron - whose real name is Man Monis - allegedly sent the letters over two years, devastating the families of seven Diggers who died in Afghanistan. One letter was addressed to a widow, care of a funeral home and he apparently accused some of the dead Australian soldiers of being "criminals", "killers" and "murderers" fighting a war of invasion. Outside court today, Sheik Haron refused to apologise to the recipients, urging the letters be taken in their entirety. He attacked Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and former PM John Howard who have "made Australia unsafe". "I don't want Australia to be unsafe," he said. "Which country has attacked us? If a country attacks us unjustly, I'm happy to go to war." In a lengthy sermon to the waiting cameras, he also waved an Australian flag, as a number of people watched on. Represented by Chris Murphy and Adam Houda, Sheik Haron did not enter a plea, had his reporting conditions reduced and will face court again in January. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in TexasMajor Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.By Philip Sherwell and Alex Spillius Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year. The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations. A picture of Nidal Malik Hasan is emerging from the slaughter he carried out Thursday during a ceremony at a Fort Hood readiness center, leaving 13 people dead and another 30 wounded. Born in Virginia, sent to medical school by the U.S. Army, the psychiatrist was chastised for proselytizing to his patients about Islam. Asked his nationality, he didn't identify himself as an American but as a Palestinian. He appeared pleased by the shooting death of a Little Rock Army recruiter in June and reportedly was heard saying "maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Times Square." In the fateful moment before he opened fire on his unarmed victims, he shouted "Allahu Akhbar." With each new disclosure, some media outlets and organized Islamist groups increasingly are trying to deflect attention away from Hasan's religious motivation. In a statement condemning the attack, the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation referenced past shootings by soldiers on their bases and cited the suicide rate at Fort Hood. The imam had driven from Detroit to northern Virginia to raise money for a jailed friend, a convicted cop killer. "If you study the case you'll see that it's a conspiracy," the imam said. "If you study what went on with him, you'll say, 'How in the world is he in jail?'" But it was what Luqman Abdullah said on the way to that March 2008 fundraiser that helped bring the FBI to his door on Wednesday in what proved to be a fatal confrontation. In the car with his son and two followers, one of whom turned out to be an FBI informant, Abdullah repeated his long-standing concern that law enforcement was after him. According to a criminal complaint: "Abdullah stated that the FBI is the enemy of Islam. Abdullah stated something to the effect, 'If they are coming to get me I'll just strap a bomb on and blow up everybody.' Abdullah gave S-3 the impression that he has access to an explosive device." According to the FBI, Abdullah led a separatist movement which wanted "a separate, sovereign Islamic state ('The Ummah') within the borders of the United States, governed by Shariah law. The Ummah is to be ruled over by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown." Read more ...Source: IPT NewsLuqman Abdullah Latest recipient of the Distinguished Islamofascist Award
By Cinnamon Stillwell As reported last week by Campus Watch, Dalia Mogahed, appointee to President Obama’s Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, executive director and senior analyst of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, and co-author, along with Georgetown University’s John Esposito, of Who Speaks for Islam?: What a Billion Muslims Really Think, appeared (by phone) earlier this month on the UK-based Islam Channel television program “Muslimah Dilemma” (view here and read the complete transcript here.) Ibtihal Bsis, the show’s host, is a member of the Islamist group Hizb ut Tahrir; Mogahed’s fellow guest, Nazreen Nawaz, is the group’s national women’s media representative. Given these affiliations, it’s no surprise that the discussion included such extremist fare as the promotion of sharia law for—of all things—protecting women’s rights, condemnation for secular pluralistic democracy, and the revival of a mythical caliphate as the answer to the Muslim world’s woes. An organization that says it is a harmless religious group has a poll on their website asking "Is Osama bin Laden innocent?" Guess what the results were ... By Joe Kaufman Since its creation, Why Islam (WI), a Muslim proselytizing project of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), has advocated a radical strain of Islam that stresses both hatred and violence. Today is no different. The group continues to verbally attack non-Muslims. And now the group is featuring a poll on its website asking if al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is innocent. The results of the poll are very disturbing. WI was launched in 2000 by ICNA, a Muslim Brotherhood organization, to provide dawah or Islamic outreach to American non-Muslims. The group purchases advertising via radio, public transportation, and billboards to publicize its name and entice the curious to contact its toll-free number. On its face, WI looks like a harmless religious organization, appearing to get along with others and saying things that everyone likes to hear. But just as with anything else, appearances can be deceiving. And with regard to WI, they are. Read more ... By Robert Spencer Actually this is based on Koran 4:92, which forbids Muslims to kill other Muslims. But Infidels are fair game. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has announced that one of the two featured speakers at its 15th annual banquet will be a controversial Imam known as Siraj Wahajj (aka Siraj Wahaj). A university website provides concise biography of Wahaj detailing his involvement with the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood: Wahaj is a well-known African-American Muslim speaker in North America, and a supporter of Islamic causes in America . He’s currently the Imam (religious congregation leader) of the Masjid Al-Taqwa Mosque. Born and raised in New York as Jeffrey Kearse, he became a Sunday school teacher as a teenager, then later went to New York University (NYU) where he studied Math Education. In 1969, he converted to Islam. He changed his name to Siraj Wahaj, which means “Bright Light” in Arabic, and was chosen to receive Imam training at the Ummul Qura university of Mecca in 1978. In addition, he also taught Islamic Studies at Howard University. Siraj has been vice president of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) since 1997 and has served on the Majlis Ash-Shura, a consultative council of Islamic scholars, since 1987. Read more ... By Robert Spencer Late in September, a Muslim named Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, was arrested after placing an inert car bomb at a 60-story office tower in downtown Dallas. In March 2009, according to his indictment in U.S. District Court, Smadi declared his intention to wage war in the name of Islam. Yet characteristically, if dispiritingly, Muslims in the Dallas area are now expressing fears of a “backlash,” rather than taking the hard steps necessary to make sure there are no more jihad plotters who are inspired by Islamic teachings, as was Hosam Smadi. Smadi was very clear about the Islamic motivation for his plot: “I truly say it that [sic] my dream is to be among God’s soldiers, first for the support of Islam and my beloved Sheik Usama, may God give him long life.” He decried the “world plan to destroy Islam, Muslims, and to seize their lands for the benefit of the Jews and for the love of infidelity.” He swore: “In the name of God, the Gracious and Merciful, this is my vow to you, my brother, that I am ready. And if you were a lover of Jihad as I am, then, by God, I am ready for the Jihadi life.” And he affirmed: “The reign is only for the living and powerful God.” Read more ...Source: FPMHosam Maher Husein Smadi Latest recipients of the Distinguished Islamofascist Award
By David Horowitz The Temple Muslim Students Association is attempting to shut down the scheduled appearance of Geert Wilders on October 20. As part of its Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, and its campaign to Stop the Campus War Against Israel and the Jews, the David Horowitz Freedom Center is sponsoring appearances by Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders at Temple and Columbia universities (October 20 and 21). The Muslim Students Association has issued a statement condemning the event and calling on the Temple Administration to close it down. The MSA statement can be found at the end of this post. The David Horowitz Freedom Center statement follows: David Horowitz Freedom Center Response to the Muslim Students Association The Temple Muslim Students Association has issued a call to the Temple University administration to censor the forthcoming campus appearance of Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders on the 20th of October, which is sponsored by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. In the heartland of America, a left-wing British politician raises funds that support extremism and terrorism in Gaza.By Patrick Poole Last March, extreme left-wing UK politician George Galloway traveled to Gaza and handed over a pile of cash to the head of Hamas. The photo-op was broadcast live on al-Jazeera TV. At that event (video and transcript of Galloway’s speech available from the Middle East Media Research Institute), he promised Hamas that he would soon bring more money for the terrorist group “from his friends.” Weeks later, Galloway conducted a fundraising swing through the U.S. after having been banned from Canada on “national security grounds.” A judge later upheld the ban on his entry. One of Galloway’s fundraising stops was for the Muslim Student Union at the University of California-Irvine. The Jerusalem Post reported last week that the student group is now under investigation by the university for having knowingly raised funds for Hamas at the event — a federal felony. Amazingly, several university officials were present at the fundraiser. One Jewish group has requested that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder also open an investigation after submitting a report and videos of the event to the Justice Department. Read more ... Yes, all that hand-chopping and stoning really isn't all that bad, if you look at it from the right perspective. Dalia Mogahed, you may recall, along with John Esposito cooked the data from a global survey of Muslim attitudes in order to increase the number of Muslim "moderates" -- classifying people as "moderate" who hate America, want to impose Sharia, and support suicide bombing. " Barack Obama adviser says Sharia Law is misunderstood," by Andrew Gilligan and Alex Spillius in the Telegraph, October 8 President Barack Obama's adviser on Muslim affairs, Dalia Mogahed, has provoked controversy by appearing on a British television show hosted by a member of an extremist group to talk about Sharia Law.
Miss Mogahed, appointed to the President's Council on Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships, said the Western view of Sharia was "oversimplified" and the majority of women around the world associate it with "gender justice". Here's some gender justice straight out of the Koran. The Koran likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills: "Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will" (2:223). The Koran also declares that a woman's testimony is worth half that of a man: "Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her" (2:282). It allows men to marry up to four wives, and have sex with slave girls also: "If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice" (4:3). It rules that a son's inheritance should be twice the size of that of a daughter: "Allah (thus) directs you as regards your children's (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females" (4:11). Worst of all, the Koran tells husbands to beat their disobedient wives: "Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them" (4:34). During the Cold War, the term "anti-anti-Communist" was used to describe people who were not Communists themselves, but who objected to every practical initiative to counter Soviet and Red Chinese expansionism. In today's struggle against radical Islamists, Salam Al-Marayati, a founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and its current executive director, can fairly be described as an "anti-anti-terrorist" - someone who rhetorically opposes Islamist terror but objects to virtually every practical measure that democracies take to defend themselves. While condemning terror in vague or general terms, Al-Marayati and MPAC focus their attacks on U.S. and Israeli security measures like Israeli military operations against Hamas or U.S. investigations of domestic terrorism. Al-Marayati has long belittled the importance of using informants to monitor "homegrown" terror cells, as in this case in which two Lodi, California men were convicted. A Muslim congressman has lashed out against a fellow Muslim on Capitol Hill.Congressman Keith Ellison denounced Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, for warning that political Islam has a militant strain that's used to justify terrorism.
Jasser told a congressional briefing that terrorism won't be stopped until his Islamic faith goes through its own Reformation to separate mosque and state.
Ellison responded by accusing Jasser of giving people a "license for bigotry."
The Minnesota Democrat said every religion has its violent extremists, and told Jasser, "I think people who want to engage in nothing less than Muslim-hating really love you a lot, because you give them freedom to do that."
But Jasser declared, "This is an Islamic problem and it needs an Islamic solution." Source: Fox NashvilleKeith Ellison Latest recipient of the Distinguished Islamofascist Award
By Joe Kaufman This past July, a video was posted to YouTube produced by the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Michigan), featuring the group’s legal advisor and project coordinator, Melanie Elturk. On the video, Elturk cautions those who are “solicited by extremists” to “report suspicious activity.” However, what she doesn’t mention are the extremist institutions that she is involved with herself. Melanie Elturk has been with CAIR-Michigan since January of this year. Even though she is somewhat new to the organization, she holds a prominent position within it, listed on the CAIR-Michigan website as one of its top three leaders. To attest to her leadership in the group, Elturk has been featured as the spokesperson for various CAIR-Michigan videos. One of these videos asks and attempts to answer the question, “What should you do if you are approached by individuals soliciting politically extreme statements?” Of course, who is CAIR to be lecturing anyone on extremism, when CAIR itself is an extremist organization? It appeared to be a typical Al-Quds Day rally, replete with hateful speeches about the destruction of the State of Israel and the waving of Hizballah flags. The rally resembled other international versions of this year's Al-Quds Day celebration, an annual Islamist holiday initiated by Iranian revolutionary and terrorism exporter, Imam Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini. However, this event wasn't held in downtown Karachi or Damascus, but in downtown Washington, D.C's Sheridan Circle. The rally was organized by an employee of the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, Faheem Darab. It even featured speakers as diverse as leaders from leftist organizations, a radical Reverend and homegrown American Islamists. The event was an expression of homegrown radicalism that sprouted from the seeds of a faraway revolution in Iran and was watered by local Jihadist sentiment. Participants were greeted at the event by the prominent yellow flags of Hizballah – a group designated by the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. In addition to this obvious display of support for a terrorist organization, the moderator of the event praised Imam Ayatollah Al-Khomeini, the initiator of Al-Quds Day and leader of the 1979 Iranian revolution. U.S. Senator Jon Kyl and U.S. Representatives Trent Franks and John Shadegg expressed concern over Rep. Keith Ellison's relationship with the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in a recent letter to the Minnesota Congressman. The letter was prompted by Rep. Ellison's recent attendance at CAIR-Arizona's 2009 Annual Banquet. In the letter the Arizona politicians said that they were "deeply concerned that any official support of this organization [CAIR] would undermine the legitimate concerns of federal investigators about CAIR's relationship to foreign terrorist organizations." The "concerns" about CAIR that the Arizona delegation referenced in the letter were highly publicized during the trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the case. Among the evidence, CAIR was listed on a memo as part of the Palestine Committee in the U.S. – the memo calls on members of the committee to "increase the financing and moral support for Hamas." As a result the FBI decided to cut off contacts with CAIR – citing questions surrounding CAIR's relationship to Hamas as its reason. In an amazing bit of irony, a Qatari government fund is creating the Al-Qaradawi Centre for Islamic Moderation and Renewal, named after leading Sunni scholar and self-proclaimed "Mufti of martyrdom operations" Yousef Al-Qaradawi. Its director claims that the center will direct its "moderation" towards "politicians and economists," train imams, and show the "huge difference between terrorism and jihad." Yet all of these stated goals directly contradict Al-Qaradawi's statements in support of terrorism, his desire to overthrow capitalism, and his position as a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Director Hasan Khalifa is a professor of Comparative Religion at Cairo University and a great admirer of Al-Qaradawi. He stated that the organization "would direct its works at politicians and economists to help them promote moderation in their respective areas." Hussam Ayloush, head of CAIR-California, is associating with and praising some of the world's most notorious supporters of terror.By Joe Kaufman CAIR leader Hussam Ayloush is on a crusade against the FBI; he’s upset by how the government agency fights terrorism. What he’s not upset by are the terrorists who threaten America and America’s allies. It’s a pattern by Mr. Ayloush that could easily lead one to believe he is a threat himself. Hussam Ayloush is the executive director of the California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-California), also known as CAIR-Southern California or CAIR-Los Angeles. He has held the position since at least 2001. Between then and now Ayloush, while appearing to be a moderate, has been associated with extremists who convey hatred and violence. In December 2001, CAIR-California’s website published a photo taken in Los Angeles of Ayloush shoulder-to-shoulder with the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
