Kenya Flies Radical Muslim Cleric Back to Jamaica

NAIROBI, Kenya — A Kenyan prosecutor says a Jamaican-born radical Muslim cleric who once led a British mosque attended by convicted terrorists is being flown back to Jamaica.

A court ordered the government to produce Sheik Abdullah el-Faisal in court Thursday and state the reasons it was holding him in detention.

Prosecutor Edward Okello said Thursday the cleric had left the country, and could not appear in court.

El-Faisal entered Kenya last month. The government has held him in detention and has been trying to deport him, saying he is a security threat.

The cleric served four years in Britain for inciting murder and stirring racial hatred by urging followers to kill Americans, Hindus and Jews.

Geert Wilders Faces Jailtime for Pointing Out Hate and Violence in Qur'an

While many of us here at Women Against Shariah do not believe in banning books, the Netherlands is hypocritical for choosing to ban some violent and hateful texts, such as Hitler's "Mein Kampf," and permitting other texts.

That is exactly what Wilders has pointed out-- the hypocrisy.

Meanwhile hate-mongers like Anjem Choudary are free to incite hatred in the UK and Europe. Whether or not you agree with Wilder's assessment that Islam is a problematic religion which advocates violence (which it does and is a reason to support reformers), he should have every right to free speech as he does not advocate for harming Muslim people.

Wilders faces five counts of religious insult and anti-Muslim incitement.

News agency AFP says Wilders is charged with insulting Muslims by describing Islam as a fascist religion and calling for the banning of the Koran, which he likens to Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.

The MPs is also accused of inciting hatred and discrimination for stating Moroccan youths were violent, for calling for Holland's borders to be closed to all non-western immigrants and urging an end to 'the Islamic invasion'.

AFP says he faces up to one year in jail if convicted.

The case against Wilders is due to start next Wednesday, when the legal framework and timetable will be set out. The main process will begin later in the year.

The most outrageous assault by the Israeli authorities against academic freedom of speech took place in recent days in what is becoming known as the Bukay Affair.

The affair combines leftist undermining of democracy, the attempt at thought control by governmental officials and the police, harassment of a university lecturer by an over-zealous anti-democratic prosecutor, and an attempt to create in Israel a political Inquisition against incorrect thinking.

The entire saga revolves around Dr. David Bukay, a lecturer in Middle East Studies at the University of Haifa, with expertise in Arab history.

Bukay speaks Arabic better than I speak English. He has conservative points of view and is very outspoken about them. His articles are carried by numerous journals.

About five years ago, Bukay was the victim of a smear campaign of demonization at the University of Haifa.

At the time, an Arab student who was active in the university branch of the communist party sat in on one of Bukay’s lectures without being registered in the class. The student then ran to the Arabic press in Israel and claimed that in his lecture Bukay had repeatedly made racist derogatory comments about Arabs. The student claimed that Bukay had said in class that all Arabs should be shot.

After the story ran in the Arabic press, it was also reported in the Hebrew press and web. It turned out that the story was planted there and spread by an Israeli “Trotskyite” named David Merhav, who later issued a retraction and apology to Bukay, admitting the entire story had been a tissue of lies. But the retraction did not help.

Today anti-Semitic internet web sites carry the story of Bukay’s alleged racist statements against Arabs.

Once the story began to spread, it turned out that none of the other students in the classroom had heard Bukay make any of the “racist” statements the communist student had alleged that he made.

Many of these students went public and claimed that the Arab student had fabricated the entire story. Hundreds of Bukay’s students backed Bukay in the case. Many wrote the Haifa University chiefs to give their side of the story. In any case, because of the uproar, the Rector at the University of Haifa, himself no right-winger (he was a founder of Peace Now), appointed a committee of investigation to look into the charges against Bukay. They found that they were lies.

But in response to the media uproar, the Israel state Deputy Prosecutor, Shai Nitzan, decided to open a criminal investigation against Bukay for the “crime” of “incitement.”

Why Muslims Chose the Capitol Hill Lawn to Pray to Allah?

Capitol in Washington, D.C. is the House of the United States’ Legislative Branch of Government. It is known as Congress, which consists of two parts: the House of Representatives, and the Senate. This Congress makes laws and studies problems that affect the well being of the American nation. In other words, it is a vital and effective organ of the American government. Abolish or cripple the Congress, there will be no democratic government in the United States!

On 25th of September, 2009, about 3,000 Muslims gathered on the lawn of the iconic Building of the Capitol to offer their Friday (Juma) prayer to Allah. The organizers of the congregation had expected 50,000 Muslims to be in attendance, but their expectation did not come true due, reportedly, to lack of publicity.

In my understanding, there are at least 15 mosques in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Muslims have been offering their daily and Juma prayers at these mosques ever since they were constructed. This being the fact, one must wonder why Muslims chose the lawn of the Capitol Building last Friday to offer their prayer to Allah!

To solve the puzzle, and to find out the truth, we will need to know what prayer, if any, was offered to Allah and what sermon, also known as khutbah, the leader (Imam) of the Friday prayer had delivered to the congregation of the Muslims.

Khutbah was introduced by the Prophet of Islam. His khutbah contained words of exhortation, instruction and important announcements, including those pertaining to raid and war preparations, to his followers.

Following his tradition, Imams have been delivering khutbahs to the Muslims’ congregations all over the world. Their khutbahs are vastly different from those delivered by Muhammad. Unlike the Friday congregation of the time of Muhammad, the present-day congregations may include the presidents, prime ministers, high government and military officers, doctors, professors and scientists of the Muslim countries as well as the illiterate, but militant Muslims.

France bans Hamas' al-Aqsa TV

The European Foundation for Democracy (EFD) applauds the French broadcasting authority Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA) for issuing a broadcast ban of al-Aqsa TV, the satellite television of the EU-listed terrorist organisation Hamas.

According to the order, al-Aqsa TV “violates article 15 of the French media law of 30 September 1986 which prohibits all forms of incitement to hatred or violence on the ground of race, religion or nationality”. Al-Aqsa TV has been broadcast into Europe by Atlantic Bird 4, owned by the French satellite provider Eutelsat.

“We commend the French broadcasting authority for implementing European audiovisual law and standing up against inflammatory broadcasts that incite terrorism,” said Roberta Bonazzi, Executive Director of the European Foundation for Democracy.

“Incitement to violence is not protected by free speech and terrorists should not be permitted to hide behind the facade of media and abuse European democracy to promote terrorism. We are confident that Eutelsat will take all necessary measures to comply with the ban,” Bonazzi continued.


Al-Aqsa TV and Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV, after which al-Aqsa is modeled, promote Jihadism and violent ideologies, indoctrinate their audiences with hate, incite terrorism and glorify suicide bombers. They spread viciously anti-Semitic propaganda, and call for attacks against the West.

Al-Aqsa TV continues to be available in Europe via Arabsat, whose largest shareholder is Saudi Arabia. “European governments and citizens should demand that Arabsat drop al-Aqsa TV from its offering,” says Alexander Ritzmann, EFD’s Senior Terrorism Analyst. “Hamas’ al-Aqsa TV and Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV are radicalizing Muslims in Europe. Their broadcasts of children dressed as suicide bombers practicing attacks - instructing them that they will be rewarded for these attacks - will raise a generation who view terrorism as legitimate behaviour.”

In a recent typical broadcast, a radical cleric used al-Aqsa TV to promote jihad in Europe. He proclaimed in a May 2008 unedited broadcast without opposing views that “Spain – Andalusia – is also the land of Islam. Islamic lands that were occupied by the enemies will once again become Islamic. We will reach beyond these countries. We proclaim that we will conquer Rome, like Constantinople was conquered once, and as it will be conquered again. We will rule the world, as has been said by the Prophet Muhammad. We will face a battlefront that is broader and stronger. Its beginnings were in Palestine, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and in Chechnya. What has begun will be completed. It will not stop.”

Al-Aqsa TV and al-Manar TV offer live internet streaming of their programmes and are distributed by other internet services, making them available around the world. New EU-wide legislation on combating terrorism, adopted on 28 November, prohibits the “distribution, or otherwise making available, of a message to the public, with the intent to incite terrorism.” This particularly applies to the internet. EFD calls on all European internet service providers to cease their relationships with all terrorist media, including al-Aqsa TV and al-Manar TV.

Al-Manar TV was removed from all European satellites in 2004 and 2005. It is still available in Europe via Arabsat and the Egyptian satellite provider Nilesat. In November 2008, the German Ministry of the Interior outlawed al-Manar TV and declared it to be in violation of the German constitution because its content incites hatred and terrorism. The order prohibits broadcasting al-Manar TV in public such as in mosques and makes it illegal to cooperate with al-Manar TV. Al-Manar TV is already outlawed in France, Spain and the Netherlands.

EFD, a founding member of the Coalition Against Terrorist Media (CATM), has worked with its coalition members, including the American Jewish Committee, to raise awareness of the threats posed by terrorist-controlled and funded media and to ban it in Europe and the Middle East. The Coalition consists of Muslim, Christian, Jewish and secular organizations in Europe, and from around the world who are committed to working with government and the private sector on issues relating to terrorist media.

It is the Innocent Who Pay the Price for Incitement by the Preachers of Hatred!

The following are excerpts from an interview with former dean of Islamic law at Qatar University by Abd Al-Hamid Al-Ansari.

"The Law Does Not Punish Those Who Incite; It Punishes... The Perpetrator"

Abd Al-Hamid Al-Ansari: "In my opinion, the people who try to impose a single religion, a single culture, or single political regime oppose the will of Allah. Allah created human beings, and the Koran says: 'but they will not cease to differ' on Judgment Day.

"Why did Allah create human beings different from one another? The development of the world, the enrichment of life, and the progress of Man and society can only take place when there is such diversity.

"When we follow those who preach hatred, confrontation, and conflict, we are the ones who end up losing. We do not have the power or the means for a confrontation. This means that our sons will turn into bombs. If we incite them against others, this means that instead of building our society, and establishing a culture of dialogue within the society, we use the religious pulpit and satellite TV for incitement. Of course, the people who incite get away with it, and are never held accountable, but my son is the one who will pay the price. That is the problem, and unfortunately, the law does not punish those who incite. It punishes my son - the perpetrator.

"The Religious and Cultural Discourse Prevalent in the Media Mentions Only the Negative Aspects of the West and America" "There is no such thing as eternal friendship or eternal hostility - only eternal interests. I acknowledge that there are many issues on which we differ with the U.S. and the West. But am I supposed to turn these differences into criterion or standard by which I view others? I think not. I may have differences of opinion with my friends, but there are also many positive things, so why should I focus on the negative only, and ignore things that are positive?

"The religious and cultural discourse prevalent in the media mentions only the negative aspects of the West and America: It supports our enemy Israel, arms it, and so on. But our countries are the allies of that same country which we criticize, accuse, and curse day in and day out. This generates a kind of schism in the minds of our children. How can the leadership, the government, and the state possibly say that America is our strategic ally?"

"[The Class] Was Told by the Teacher, During a Lesson on Monotheism... [to] Hate Non-Muslims" "When I talk about 'culture of dialogue,' I mean a culture that deals with its own defects and flaws more than with the flaws of others. What is happening today, as far as the culture of dialogue is concerned, is that we are busy following and exaggerating the defects of others. If somebody in the West disparages the Prophet or the religion of Islam, or says something abominable, we immediately blow this out of proportion, and this makes the preachers of hatred happy. They say to us: Didn't we tell you that the West was hostile, and that it was constantly conspiring against us? But the truth is that there are many 'wests,' and America does not consist of a single sect or a single opinion.

"I would like to tell you about something I read in the Saudi Al-Watan newspaper, [about] a mother who wrote a letter to Saudi journalist Layla Al-Ahdab. In it, she wrote that her eight-year-old daughter, in the third grade, was told by the teacher, during a lesson on monotheism, that there were three ways to disavow the polytheists: First, hating them. This means we should hate non-Muslims. We should emigrate from their countries. In other words, the Muslim communities in [the West] -the eight million, or I don't know how many, in Europe, and the six million in America - should all return to their countries, and if they are forced to stay there, they must harbor hatred towards them, because this is monotheism, it is part of our belief. This is not a personal opinion... Thirdly, we must reveal their falsehood.

"The mother wrote in her letter: Do they expect me to hate the Jewish scientist who discovered insulin, which I use to treat my mother? Am I supposed to teach my daughter that she should hate Edison, who invented the light bulb, which lights up the Islamic world? Should I hate the scientist who discovered the cure for malaria? Should I teach my daughter to hate people merely because their religion is different? Why do we turn our religion into a religion of hatred towards those who differ from us?

"One of the great sheikhs of the Council of Islamic Scholars, whose name I won't mention in order to avoid slandering him, responded to the mother: This is none of your business. Don't interfere in things that don't concern you. We know better than you when it comes to school curricula. He said that cooperation with the infidels is permitted, but only as a reward [for services] and not out of love. In other words, there should be no friendship.

"I would like to know how this can possibly be, when Allah allows me to marry a woman from among the People of the Book. How can I possibly not love the mother of my children? How can I harbor hatred towards her, and at the same time, sleep with her? I don't understand how this is possible."
