By Kathy Shaidle On October 14, Canadian voters handed Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper his second minority government, one even stronger than his first. Harper vows to maintain the nation’s military commitment in Afghanistan through 2011, but his dedication to fighting radical Islam at home remains unclear. Ezra Levant was one of those trying to keep those issues on the table while working the party’s “war room” during the campaign. Levant famously reprinted the Danish cartoons of Mohammed in his magazine, the Western Standard, back in 2006, an act that got him hauled before the Alberta Human Rights Commission for “Islamophobia.” That was Canada’s first real taste of Islamist “lawfare” tactics, and its most notorious next to similar charges brought against Maclean’s magazine and its columnist Mark Steyn. Levant is optimistic about the prime minister’s commitment to fighting radical Islam on the domestic front. Read more ...Source: Pajamas Media
By Joseph Klein Islam was born as a religion spread through violence. There is a direct line from the prophet Muhammad to today’s Islamic terrorists, whose latest deadly attacks wreaked havoc in Mumbai, India. The ongoing effort in the United Nations and the politically correct media to disassociate Islam from terrorism is a sham. Just days before the Mumbai attack, a United Nations Committee passed a resolution entitled “Combating Defamation of Religions”, which will be going to the General Assembly for approval in mid-December. It is one in a series of such resolutions pushed by the Organization of Islamic Conference. While ostensibly applying to all religions, it refers only to Islam by name. The text “expresses deep concern … that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism.” The New York Times’ lead news stories in the aftermath of the Mumbai massacre played right into the Organization of Islamic Conference’s campaign of obfuscation. It omitted the central fact that the terrorists who murdered more than 170 innocent people were fanatical Islamists. The Times referred to them simply in generic terms as “gunmen”, “attackers”, and “militants”. The only hint of a Muslim connection to the terrorist acts reported in the New York Times’ lead article on November 28, 2008 was the recounting of a complaint from two of the attackers to local television stations about the treatment of Muslims in India and about hostilities in the disputed territory of Kashmir. The Times actually quoted one of these cold-hearted terrorists, who tried to play victim in justifying the carnage. By Robert Spencer "Unfortunately, we have yet to see a distinguished popular condemnation in the traditional Arab or Muslim communities that strongly rejects what is happening in the name of Islam" Who said that? What Islamophobe dared to call into question the sincerity or adequacy of Muslim condemnations of terrorism? Would you believe Khaled al-Jenfawi, a columnist for Kuwait's Al-Seyassah daily? Anyway, in this story, "Muslims condemn Mumbai attacks, worry about image," by Karin Laub for The Associated Press, November 30, Muslim leaders and spokesmen worry a great deal about the possibility that the jihad attacks in Mumbai by a Tiny Minority of Extremists™ will lead people to think ill of Islam. Of course, there is one thing they could do about that that would actually begin to make people think better of Islam, but no one even whispers anything about doing it in this article or anywhere else. Imams could begin to saturate mosques and madrassas with the message that jihad warfare is never justified, that the imperative to subjugate unbelievers under the rule of Islamic law must be decisively rejected, and that peaceful coexistence as equals with unbelievers is to be maintained indefinitely. If Islamic clerics stopped talking about conquering Europe and America, and began to teach the opposite, things might begin to improve. If Muslim leaders worldwide energetically pronounced takfir upon -- that is, declared to be non-Muslim -- all those who maintained belief in the Qur'an's literal words of warfare, and in the traditional Islamic doctrines regarding jihad warfare (whether hot war or otherwise), and upon anyone who wished to impose Shari'a upon unbelievers by whatever means and at whatever speed, and if those leaders demonstrated their sincerity by actions instead of mere words, informed non-Muslims might begin to think better of Islam. But these things will not happen. They're not even on the table. Instead, many of the same people quoted in this article work to brand any non-Muslim who points out the ways in which jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and supremacism as a "bigot" or a "racist." And that in itself, however effective a tactic it may be among the ignorant and easily intimidated, is revealing. Source: FrontPage Magazine
By Stephen Brown It was reality television at its most horrific. For three days last week, a spellbound world watched as a handful of heavily armed and well-trained Islamic terrorists paralyzed Mumbai, turning India’s financial center of 20 million inhabitants into a war zone. When the guns fell silent, the carefully planned and brutally efficient series of attacks had claimed the lives of about 200 people, including five Americans; injured as many as 300; and thrown the world’s largest democracy into turmoil. According to Indian officials, ten men took part in the attack, targeting a Jewish center (the Nariman House) and two luxury hotels (the Taj Mahal and Oberon-Trident). Though the killers searched out American and British citizens, they often murdered indiscriminately. Among the victims were 26 foreign nationals, including an American rabbi and his wife, and 20 Indian commandos and policemen.A total of six Americans were killed. Jews were a clear target. One terrorist, Azam Amir Kasab, reportedly a member of the Pakistani-supported terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (Army of the Righteous), which has targeted India in the past, and the group has battled Americans in concert with the group with which it is affiliated, al-Qaeda. Kasab, a Pakistani citizen from Kashmir, told police after his capture that Israelis were targeted in order "to avenge atrocities on Palestinians"; hence, the attack on Nariman House. The Times of India reported that some of the terrorists even slept in the Jewish complex on an earlier reconnaissance mission in the city, passing themselves off as Malaysian students. By Nidal al-Mughrabi Nidal Al-mughrabi – Sat Nov 29, 1:31 pm ET RAFAH, Gaza Strip (Reuters) – Palestinian pilgrims bound for Mecca were prevented from leaving the Gaza Strip via Egypt on Saturday as the enclave's Hamas Islamist rulers and the rival leadership in the West Bank traded blame for the hold-up.
The pilgrims, hoping to reach Saudi Arabia next week for the annual haj pilgrimage, told Reuters that Hamas police set up checkpoints 300 meters (yards) from the Rafah border post with Egypt and turned them away. Hamas security also barred journalists from the border area of the town of Rafah.
Hamas officials blamed Egypt, saying it had not opened the border as agreed. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry and witnesses in Rafah said Egypt opened the crossing point for the pilgrims on Saturday but none came.
The root of the problem appeared to lie in disputes between the two main Palestinian factions, Hamas and Fatah, which each controls one of the two Palestinian territories, and also involves Saudi Arabia's policy on issuing visas to Palestinians.
At Rafah, a 60-year-old pilgrim who gave his name as Abu Abdullah said: "I am not with Fatah and not with Hamas. I wanted to worship God and to go on the haj before I die.
"Sadly, the schism has now spilled into our religion."
Every Muslim who has the means should complete the haj at least once in his or her lifetime.
Saudi Arabia says it has granted visas only to Palestinians who registered for the haj through the Palestinian Authority, controlled by President Mahmoud Abbas's secular Fatah faction in the West Bank. Some 3,000 people in Gaza have done so.
A further 3,000 Gazans have tried to arrange visas through Hamas, which seized control of the enclave last year. Hamas is appealing to Saudi Arabia to relent and give them visas. Some Hamas leaders have said that unless it does so, they will prevent anyone leaving Gaza for the pilgrimage to Mecca.
CONFLICTING ACCOUNTS
At the Hamas-run Interior Ministry in Gaza, spokesman Ehad al-Ghsain denied halting pilgrims. "We are not sending people back. The Egyptians are keeping the crossing closed," he said.
An Egyptian official insisted the crossing was open to pilgrims and would remain so until Monday. Egypt has mostly kept Rafah closed since Hamas routed Fatah in Gaza last year.
Jamal Bawatma, minister of religious affairs for the Palestinian Authority, speaking by telephone from Mecca, accused Hamas of a "crime" against the pilgrimage. "Saudi Arabia only recognizes the Palestinian Authority which represents all Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank," he said.
Both Saudi Arabia and Egypt have worked to promote an accord between the Palestinians to end a schism that has hamstrung Abbas's efforts to secure a peace settlement with Israel.
Mohammed Eid said he and other pilgrims who registered with the Hamas-run Ministry of Religious Affairs in Gaza had not been granted visas by Saudi Arabia. "We urge the Saudi king to give us visas, so that all pilgrims in Gaza can go on haj," Eid said.
"Why should my neighbor be allowed to leave and I stay here? I am not against my neighbor but this is political discrimination manifesting itself in religious matters."

I hope everyone takes a really deep, hard look at what happened last week in Mumbai, India, and at the terrorists who perpetrated the attack. And I hope this is done quickly, with a high degree of intellectual honesty and without the encumbrance of political correctness. The safety of every American, Canadian, Australian, and all Westerners, in fact depends on it, as does the security of our respective nations.
If recent history provides us any insight, however, we will fall woefully short in our official analysis of this event, and fail to learn the lessons of Mumbai.
We’ve already demonstrated this pattern of failure in the many instances since 2001. Although there is enough blame to go around, I will place special blame squarely at the feet of a select few: members within our current administration, who have succumbed to the pressures and influences of such special interest groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations to needlessly convolute the facts about Islamic terrorism; the corporate media, for their failure to call an Islamic terrorist an Islamic terrorist; some nationally syndicated political right-wing talk radio show hosts who have a platform and vast audience, but fail to use their programs to provide you with the whole truth, and many of you, who strive to be so liberal and open minded that quite simply, your brains spill to the floor.
Syndicated columnist Mark Steyn wrote last Friday that Mumbai could happen just about anywhere. He’s correct, and be forewarned, it will happen in America. It will happen in Canada. It will happen in Australia and just about any Western country you can name.
I have the ability, authority and have earned the right to make such a statement because I’ve personally investigated potential terrorists who are in this country that appear to be training for just such scenarios. I’ve published my investigative findings, complete with photographs, only to be called an alarmist, racist, bigoted, and religiously intolerant. I’ve seen my findings skewed by the media, who complain that they cannot find corroborating witnesses as they point cameras and shine lights on sources that fear for their safety. And I’ve garnered the wrath of a top Pakistani terror kingpin for exposing the activities of his followers here in the U.S. and Canada.
My investigative findings into one such Pakistani terrorist group, (Pakistan now suddenly being important, considering all of the dead bodies in Mumbai) Jamaat ul Fuqra, have been cited by the Regional Organized Crime Information Center in their 2006 special research report. Prolific author and researcher of Islamic terrorism, Dr. Paul Williams, devoted nearly an entire chapter to my findings in his recent book The Day of Islam.
Despite the evidence presented, there is an incredible disconnect from reality by otherwise rational and reasonable individuals, people in leadership, and some at higher levels in our own law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Why else would one treat with sickening malaise the existence of a bullet-ridden school bus situated on the grounds of a private Islamic commune located at the base of the Catskill Mountains in New York State? This would be the same Islamic compound “of Qu’ranic study” that is outfitted with a firing range, where area residents often hear the sounds of automatic and semi-automatic weapons fire.
How was this group dealt with by local community leaders? Not with the slightest scintilla of suspicion or even curiosity, but with a parade. An actual parade, through the streets of Binghamton, NY, to celebrate interfaith dialogue. What about law enforcement? Well, they consider this commune “good residents,” mostly because they have not had to respond to any “trouble calls” to that location.
The fact is this: there are well armed Muslim men and young boys who are training for urban combat terrorist scenarios inside the United States and Canada, as India continues the process of identifying their dead. I have seen them, and have documented their activities.
They don’t wear nametags that identify them with any particular Islamic terrorist organization, and are not limited to groups like LeT and Jamaat ul Fuqra, but make no mistake: they all adhere to the same philosophy and ideology taught by fundamentalist Islam, and their training is derived directly from the texts, manuals, and videos authored and published by al Qaeda.
Such groups here are well funded, in many cases by receiving money from Saudi Arabia through mosques and Islamic Centers. In cases like Jamaat ul Fuqra, they establish charities, and send their money to top terrorist leader Sheikh Mubarek ali Gilani, who in turn uses those funds to recruit, equip and expand his terrorist network.
Westerners in general, and Americans specifically have a serious case of memory deficit disorder. This disorder will continue until the hallways of the Waldorf Astoria in New York, and the concourses at the Mall of America, for example, run with the blood of innocent men, women and children who have died because we have failed properly and unapologetically deal with the threat of Islamic terrorism within this country.
For economic and political reasons, we are being lied to every day about the actual threat level that exists in this country and in Canada. And without asking even the most basic questions, the major media in this country perpetuate the lies of those in leadership who successfully hoodwink the masses by the carefully constructed use of catch-phrases like “no specific threat,” unsubstantiated threat, “no specific intelligence,” and my personal favorite, “no connection to terrorism” to nauseating extremes.
Now, the war in which we are engaged is being moved from the battlefield and relegated to U.S. courtrooms. This tactic started long before the Bush administration, but one that received his active support. It’s disingenuous and even silly to think that we can fight a war through our court system and expect to win. This has been demonstrated on numerous occasions since 9/11, and in a number of significant previous instances
Now, it looks like we are about to turn our country over to “President-elect Barrack Hussein Obama,” a man who has unprecedented terrorist connections himself, and who has the full backing and support of numerous Muslim organizations that tacitly, if not actively condone the actions of Islamic terrorists. A mere seven years after the worst attacks on U.S. soil, Americans have chosen a man who might not even be eligible to serve as President. Since August, Obama has spent nearly one million dollars fighting at least 17 lawsuits to keep a single piece of paper – his birth certificate – under wraps.
One of his legal point men fighting at least one of the lawsuits also happens to be a lawyer for (and active member of) the aforementioned Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group having a very special hand in formulating federal, state and local law enforcement policies, with the grace of our current administration. Coincidence? I think not.
To hell with the U.S. Constitution in that case, apparently. It only applies to the constitutional rights of Islamic terrorists, not the political elite. Apply constitutional requirements to the treatment of the Islamic terrorists who have killed, and want to kill us here in America, but dare not apply the requirements of that document to the manufactured “messiah.”
Meanwhile, it appears that Obama will be the man selected to inherit the already fatally flawed war doctrine of the Bush administration and either by accident or design, will further endanger our national security, and the safety and security of every man, woman and child of the West.
Instead of a local parade celebrating interfaith dialogue on Main Street in Binghamton, NY, you can now expect one to be held on Pennsylvania Avenue. Instead of war prisoners being held in war prisons and tried as war criminals, you can now expect them to be thrust into the already overburdened criminal justice system.
There is something else you can expect, too. Expect to experience the carnage of Mumbai on any street in America, Canada, or Australia. Source: Canada Free Press
The Guardian UK reports today (Monday December 1 2008 00.01 GMT) that India claims "certain proof" of Pakistan's involvement in last week's Mumbai slaughter and chaos. The Indian military is on high alert. The Indian minister said yesterday there was "no doubt that the terrorists had come from Pakistan ... We have evidence of their nationalities. We will reveal everything soon". [Emphasis added]
In addition, the Guardian reports:
The Indian minister said yesterday there was "no doubt that the terrorists had come from Pakistan ... We have evidence of their nationalities. We will reveal everything soon".
The Anti Defamation Leauge expressed outrage at the Mumbai ‘terrorist’ attacks that “targeted innocent victims because they were Jews.” Abraham Foxman, ADL Director, issued the following statement: “This brutal attack once again shows that terrorists single out Jews. The attack is a reminder that the world must stand up against all terrorism, because in the end no one is safe until terrorism is combated in all its manifestations.” Well of course Jews like Foxman use the Mumbai incident as an opportunity to promote the ‘war on terror.’ Once again, Muslims are made the ‘enemies’ of all mankind, rather than the Zionist Jews, who are engaged in ethnic cleansing of Arab Muslims & Christians in Palestine and responsible for world wide chaos since the inception of their rogue state of Israel. Also - the ‘terrorist’ attacks in Mumbai will be used by Zionist Jews as justification for a US invasion of Pakistan, yet another ‘enemy’ of Israel. Source: Pakistan Daily

"CAIR-OH Conducts Diversity Training for Columbus Police," from the CAIR site, November 25:
Representatives of the Columbus chapter of CAIR-Ohio, along with a Muslim law enforcement officer, recently conducted diversity training on “Islam and Muslims: What Law Enforcement Personnel Should Know” at the Columbus Police Training Academy.
Topics covered included the basic beliefs and practices of Islam, practical advice to help future law enforcement personnel develop cultural competency when interacting with the Muslim community, and a section on cultural awareness about the Somali community, as Columbus is home to one of the largest populations of Somali refugees in the United States. This is the 5th year that CAIR-Ohio has conducted the training.
“We welcome the opportunity to improve understanding and cooperation between Law Enforcement officials and the Muslim community,” said Dr. Asma Mobin-Uddin, president of CAIR-Ohio. “Educational sessions like the ones we have been participating in for the past five years help law enforcement personnel appreciate the needs and concerns of the members of the diverse communities they serve.”... The events of Mumbai, the “surprise” they caused, the clumsy fashion in which they were treated, and the almost glorifying attitude meted out to them by the world media, demonstrate, seven years after the September 11 attacks, that little was learned in the West from them, while the pledges of Islamic terrorism to pursue its novel strategy proved credible and feasible. For after Madrid, London, Bali and other acts of mega-terrorism, the West still hesitates to pronounce the M-word, and talks about “Militants”, who draw sympathy in the Islamic world, instead of condemning them as Muslim terrorists and trying to rally moderate governments worldwide in support of the war against them. Moreover, instead of vigorously rejecting the Muslim notion of jihad, in the name of which all these horrors are done, the West has been indulging in the vain distinction between Islam and “Islamism”, ignoring the fact that they are one and the same faith and that jihad is the language of both. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was founded by members of Hamas and at least three of its employees were convicted of plotting against the United States while still on its payroll. Yet the self-described public interest law firm continues to operate with impunity in Washington, the capital of the same government it wishes to overthrow. That could soon change, however, and CAIR will have only itself to blame. In a 66-page civil lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, CAIR has been accused of fraud and racketeering for allegedly hiring a fake attorney to represent local Muslims, and then covering up the fraud by coercing clients who demanded a refund into signing a secrecy agreement in violation of professional ethics.
