LAHORE, PAKISTAN: A young man killed his 40-year-old mother due to a domestic dispute in the Hanjerwal Police precincts on Monday. The victim was identified as Mukhtaran Bibi, resident of Murid Wal village while the killer was identified as Tahir. The victim’s son regularly quarreled with her, and on Monday, after yet another argument, he used a sharp-edged weapon to viciously stab her to death.
A first information report (FIR) was registered against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s daughter. The police successfully took Tahir into custody along with the weapon. While in custody, Tahir confessed to his crime and claimed to have killed his mother for honour as she had established an illicit relationship with someone in the recent past.
He claimed to have asked her to terminate her relationship, but she did not listen. Hanjerwal Police Station Investigations In-charge Malik Mansab stated that the case was clear, as the nominated accused had confessed to his crime while in police custody. Mansab claimed to have recorded the statements of the victim’s relatives to confirm Tahir’s statement.
