Monitoring the news channels over the weekend a disturbing thought has entered my mind!
According to CNN News, a senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar said Monday that the Gaza leadership has no intention of stopping its rocket attacks on Israel, despite claims from Palestinian sources that more than 500 people have died during Israeli reprisals.
Al-Zahar, a co-founder of Hamas, served as the Palestinian foreign minister under the Hamas-led government before it was dissolved by President Mahmoud Abbas after Hamas seized control of Gaza in June 2007.
He is believed to be the mastermind of the takeover of Gaza, in which Hamas fighters battled Palestinian forces loyal to Abbas' Fatah movement.
His comments came as Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told foreign representatives Monday that the equation in the Middle East has changed with the Jewish state's military incursion into Gaza.
Now here's the rub bunky.
As I said in the header for this piece "Hamas not stupid, just ruthless and immoral," they are in a no-lose situation as long as they are willing to sacrifice some of their own people to do it. (And that has never stopped them in the past.)
That's right kids, Hamas started it and Hamas keeps it going because world wide public opinion condemns Israel for marching into Gaza and conveniently forgets who is behind it all.
In a nutshell, this means that the worse Hamas acts, the better off they are!

"We salute the resistance men," al-Zahar said in a televised address from an undisclosed location in Gaza.Now first of all folks, this is the same twisted logic as when a terrorist says: "If you don't do what I want I will kill these people.......... and it will be your fault!" (In the minds of these people that actually makes sense.)
"They (Israeli forces) shelled everyone in Gaza ... they shelled children and hospitals and mosques and in doing so, they gave us legitimacy to strike them in the same way," he said.
"Our demands are clear: the problem is not in the Qassam rockets.
The problem is in the aggression and the troops and the siege imposed on us."
His comments came as Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told foreign representatives Monday that the equation in the Middle East has changed with the Jewish state's military incursion into Gaza.
"Before the military operation, Hamas targets Israelis whenever it likes and Israel shows restraint," Livni told foreign ministers from the EU. "This is no longer going to be the equation. When Israel is targeted, Israel is going to retaliate."The Israeli military said 47 rockets were launched from Gaza into southern Israel on Sunday -- including 12 Grad rockets.
