Iran Update

These events have been reported to World Threats.

The Revolution continues.

Dec. 8 - Members of the Bassij arrived at Meli University in several vans. They carried portraits of Khamenei and the flag of the Islamic Republic and went to the university’s School of Management. There they were mocked by the students and asked how much they had been paid for participating in that act. The Bassiji and the students clashed and the Harasat (university police) dispersed the students. A correspondent for the official radio and TV network accompanied the Bassiji.

Dec. 8 - Beginning at noon some 2500 students of the Tehran University School of Engineering protested in front of the school. They protested against the introduction of Bassiji who were not students into the university. The Bassiji beat the students severely. The demonstration started with the slogans of death to Khamenei and death to the dictator.

At 12:45 non-student suppressive forces numbering six thousand to seven thousand who had been present since the night of December Seventh were ordered into the University. They attacked the students with knives, daggers and other weapons of that type. The suppressive forces also used pepper spray on the students. The university has become a battlefield. The University of Tehran is under siege.

At 3:10 PM guards shot pepper gas and tear gas into the School of Engineering building. All the windows are broken and the University is witnessing the bloody suppression of its students. Since 2:45 PM, the Bassiji have been attacking students. The Bassiji use foul language to entice the students to engage them. Students are sitting in and chaining themselves to the building. They have announced that they will not attend classes.

4:45 PM. The Bassiji have raided the building of the School of Engineering. The Bassiji have said that Khamenei has sent them and that there will be no classes until the students are “taken care of”. They have threatened the students with another cultural revolution.

Some seven thousand to eight thousand plainclothes officers are present at the university and are taking up positions in the university area. They are beating students with sticks and stones. The clashes are continuing.

5:00 PM. A large number of female Bassiji chanted pro Khamenei slogans and beat students. Clashes have increased between students and Bassiji. The Harasat has entered the university and is trying to separate the two groups. But the Bassiji have been ordered to beat the students and some soldiers are accompanying them.

The students are more organized that they were yesterday and are chanting “Allah O Akbar”, “death to traitor Ahmadinejad”, “the dean resign, resign” and “the administration of the coup resign, resign”.

Dec. 7 - The students of Shahre Ray University gathered in protest in front of the Engineering School building from noon to 2:00 PM. Ten students were arrested two of them female.

Dec. 7 - At 10:00 PM the students of the School of Economy of Allameh University chanted Allah O Akbar in their dormitory called Motahari and also chanted death to the dictator. Guards attempted to identify the chanters by entering their rooms. The students turned their lights off.
