CAIR Sex, Drugs and Profanity: an Islamist's depravity beyond his terror ties.

CAIR-California’s Affad Shaikh is a rebel Islamist. While he performs the normal extremist activities, like obsess over Israel, rail against American troops, and defend militant Islamic groups overseas, he also does many things that could be considered unbecoming of a CAIR leader, at least by CAIR’s disjointed standards of conduct. Yet the group still keeps him on board. Could it be that CAIR has warmed to Shaikh’s offensive disposition?

Affad Shaikh is the Civil Rights Coordinator of CAIR-Los Angeles, the main office of CAIR-California, one of the main offices of CAIR itself. Although, he has another role as well, which seems to take up more of his time, and that is as an internet blogger.

Since October 2005, Shaikh has posted his almost daily thoughts on a weblog he runs called This American Muslim and another blog he contributes to named Muslamics. When he was stopped with others at the US-Mexico border, suspected of plotting to murder President Bush, he blogged about it. When he wanted to express his anger about what he thought was the Pope’s “extremism,” he blogged about it. And when he felt the need to tell his fellow Muslims that they should end their full participation in interfaith gatherings with Jews, calling the gatherings a “façade,” he blogged about that too. CAIR's "Holocaust" Libel. Abusing a historical tragedy to condemn Israel.

When it comes to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, many in the radical Muslim community choose to exploit imagery related to the Holocaust in an attempt to gin up animosity towards Israel. One of the promoters of this offensive practice, Affad Shaikh, is a representative of a well-known Islamic organization, CAIR. Recently, Shaikh took the offense to a new level – or in this case, a new low – by evoking an infamous Nazi propaganda-driven anti-Jewish libel and by posting to the web a defaced photo of a familiar Holocaust victim.

Since the beginning of the Gaza attacks, the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR has been on the attack, as well – against Israel. This makes sense, given the group’s deep connection to Palestinian terrorists – CAIR was created by Hamas operatives and CAIR was recently named in a federal Hamas fundraising trial.

One of the CAIR leaders who has been extremely vocal in his anti-Israel rhetoric is Affad Shaikh, the Civil Rights Coordinator of CAIR-Los Angeles (a.k.a. CAIR-California). Upset at the Gaza situation, Shaikh has posted numerous anti-Israel messages on different blog sites.

Shaikh is involved with – what he calls being a “collaborator” for – various blogs. One fittingly goes by the name Anti-“Israel,” a site which broadcasts articles written by leaders of Hamas. In a January 8th article published by Anti-“Israel,” entitled ‘This Brutality Will Never Break Our Will to Be Free,’ the head of Hamas Khaled Meshaal admitted to Hamas’s use of rockets against Israelis. He wrote, “Our modest, home-made rockets are our cry of protest to the world.” Read more ...

CAIR's Sex Shopper: some jihadists don't want to wait for the 72 virgins

Sexuality and radical Islam make a strange combination. On the one hand, militant males are raised to believe that 72 virgins await them following martyrdom. On the other, fundamentalist Muslims are brought up with a wide divide between the genders. For one Islamist leader, though, the lure of sex seems very appealing.

Affad Shaikh is the Civil Rights Coordinator for the Los Angeles office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Los Angeles), also known as CAIR-California. He has been involved with CAIR for a number of years, also holding positions within CAIR-San Diego and with CAIR-Los Angeles’s monthly tabloid, Southern California In Focus.

CAIR is a nationwide organization which began as a part of the terrorist group Hamas. CAIR is currently named by the U.S. Justice Department as a co-conspirator for a Dallas federal trial dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas. CAIR Assassination Plot?

Last month, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents stationed at the U.S./Mexico border held the Civil Rights Coordinator of CAIR-California, Affad Shaikh, and others whom he was with for questioning. The agents suspected that the group had the intention of coming to the United States to assassinate President Bush. The following will provide a detailed context for why the CBP would believe such a thing and will make the case as to why the U.S. government should not drop the issue.

Affad Shaikh has spent the last 20 years of his life in the U.S. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan. Though he has been here for as long as he has, he has had mixed feelings about his status as an American.

In an article he wrote in September of 2006, entitled ‘Five Years Ago an American Muslim was born,’ Shaikh stated that, due to the events that took place on September 11, 2001, “America stopped being America” for him. He said that the “war on Terrorism” that the government waged following the attacks has been, in reality, a “war on Muslims and Islam.” Read more ...
