BBC exposes Columbus mosque speaker, hatemonger Khalid Yasin

The BBC’s Panorama program on Monday, “Muslim First, British Second,” addressed the growing problem of Islamic radicalization flourishing under the guise of “non-violent” Muslims. What they discovered is that extremist preachers, while nominally disclaiming violence, in fact, are a major contributor to the atmosphere of hate that breeds Islamic terrorism.

So it was no surprise then that one of the hatemongers they profiled was none other than Khalid Yasin, who was in Ohio last year conducting fundraisers in Columbus and Dayton. As we reported here exclusively at COAT last May, Yasin spent more than a week touring a number of Columbus-area mosques and Ohio State, his visit sponsored by the Islamic Society of Greater Columbus.

Sure is nice to see a major media outlet addressing this problem — even if they are 3,866 miles away. Now if only get the media a little closer to home to begin seriously tackling this issue. Not holding my breath.

Jihadist hate preacher welcomed in Netherlands as it prosecutes Wilders for "hate speech"

Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin rejects demands by two parties to bar a radical Islamic preacher from speaking in the Netherlands.

Mr Hirsch Ballin wrote to parliament on Thursday that the preacher, American citizen Khalid Yasin, is free to enter the country and address audiences. The justice minister adds that Mr Yasin will risk prosecution if it turns out that his speeches incite hatred. He emphasises that everyone in the Netherlands has freedom of speech, provided they respect the rule of law.

The two major parties of the governing coalition, Labour and Christian democrat CDA, together with the opposition populist right-wing Freedom Party, had asked for a ban. They cited earlier utterances by Mr Yasin, who according to the Freedom Party is "a terrorist" and "an evil man". Labour had asked the justice minister to verify reports that Mr Yasin preaches radical Islam and intolerance between muslims and non-muslims. The Christian democrats wrote to the minister that they feared Mr Yasin would issue calls to violence. Read more ...

Khalid Yasin: Terrorist Mastermind -- And Con Man?

In May, I had two reports published here at FrontPage concerning international hate sheikh Khalid Yasin’s recent tour through the state of Ohio, “Islamic Hatred in the Heartland” and “The Hate Sheikh’s Tour” with an appearance in Dayton and a weeklong schedule of events at mosques all around the Columbus area and the Ohio State University.

But the issue raising concerns amongst some Muslim leaders in the US is not just Yasin’s cross-country tours promoting his toxic blend of rancid theology and conspiracy-mongering, but also about his fraudulent fundraising and questionable business practices. These Muslim leaders are also concerned that some Islamic institutions have willing looked the other way and ignored these scams as long as Yasin continues to regularly rake in substantial sums on their behalf.

Others have also expressed outrage that while Yasin has taken home as much as a hundred thousands dollars in an evening, thanks to his usual 50/50 split of all funds raised at an event, his wife and child live on public welfare in their home in Sheffield, England. Read more ...

The Hate Sheikh's Tour

In the early 1980s, the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism announced a new state tourism slogan: “Ohio, the Heart of It All”. This slogan takes on several new layers of meaning now that international hate sheikh Khalid Yasin has decided to continue his “Islamic Hatred in the Heartland” tour by spending this week delivering his message of hatred, bigotry and violence in mosques all around Central Ohio.

Two weeks ago I reported here at FrontPage that Yasin would be appearing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, “Islamic Hatred in the Heartland”, sponsored by a local mosque, Masjid at-Taqwa. Pendra Lee Snyder has followed-up on that story by providing a first-hand account of Yasin’s appearance in Dayton, and how Masjid at-Taqwa prevented her from recording his hate-filled comments. Our reporting here at FrontPage even prompted Dayton NBC affiliate WDTN to cover and question Yasin’s visit. Hatred in the Heartland

As reported last week at FrontPage by Patrick Poole, “Islamic Hatred in the Heartland,” the Dayton, Ohio-based Masjid at-Taqwa held a fundraising event on the campus of Sinclair Community College featuring international hate sheikh Khalid Yasin. The mosque’s fundraiser managed to draw over 275 people to an auditorium that seats about 300. Rancid Fanatic is Featured Campus Speaker for the Muslim Students Association

If an organization stood accused of supporting a fanatical religious movement that seeks to create a global empire wherein women are oppressed, homosexuals are executed, and all faiths other than Islam are expressly outlawed, would that group try to discredit such accusations by providing a public forum for an individual who proudly and vocally embraces precisely those ideals? Yes, if that organization was the Muslim Students Association (MSA), which recently commissioned a religious bigot and apologist for terror named Sheikh Khalid Yasin to speak on its behalf.

During the first week of April, the MSA invited Yasin to appear at five college campuses -- Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University, Sinclair Community College, the University of Minnesota, and Washington State University -- to rebut charges about the organization’s countenance of religious bigotry and Islamic terror. Those charges were featured prominently in Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week (IFAW), a national event organized by the David Horowitz Freedom Center's Terrorism Awareness Project (TAP). Held in the fall of 2007 and again in the spring of 2008 on more than 100 college campuses nationwide, IFAW sought to familiarize students with radical Islam’s quest to conquer the world in the name of Allah, and to eviscerate its every perceived foe in the process. Moreover, TAP called on student groups like the MSA to condemn terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who exemplify Islam's most extreme and dangerous faction. Islamic Hatred in the Heartland

Khalid Yasin is one of the most notorious Islamic hate sheikhs in the world today. He had been widely condemned from the US to Britain to Australia for his virulent Wahhabist extremism, his intense anti-Americanism (despite the fact that he is an American-born convert), his justification of Islamic terrorism, his wild-eyed conspiracy theories, and his outright racial and religious bigotry. And an Australian news investigation found that Yasin had claimed academic degrees that the schools had no record or, and also discovered that he had engaged in outright fraud in his building his international Islamic media empire.

So it is troubling to see that Khalid Yasin will be lecturing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio on May 16th, sponsored by Dayton’s Masjid-at-Taqwa.

For example, consider some of his stated positions and activities:

• Yasin says that the US government was behind the 9/11 attacks.
• Yasin claims that AIDS was invented at a US government lab and spread by Western governments through UN agencies and Christian missionaries.
• Yasin advocates for the death penalty for homosexuality.
• Yasin justified the terrorist bombings in Bali because of years of Western oppression.
• Yasin says that the Quran permits wife-beating and that equal rights for women is a “delusion” and “foolishness”.
• Yasin calls the beliefs of Christians and Jews “filth”.
• Yasin says that Muslims cannot have non-Muslim friends.
• Yasin rejects any separation between Islam and the state and openly advocates for the reestablishment of the caliphate.
• Yasin visited Jemaah Islamiah terrorist leader Abu Bakar Bashir in prison.
• Yasin has lectured with Hizb-ut-Tahrir hatemonger Omar Bakri Mohammed, who was banned from the UK in 2006.
• Yasin was in Saudi Arabia on 9/11 soliciting the support of Al-Qaeda front Al-Haramain Foundation, which was designated a terrorist organization in 2004 by the US government, to help finance his Islamic Broadcasting Company. Read more ...
