Queen Elizabeth banned from making state visit to Israel, says historian

The eminent historian Andrew Roberts has said that the British government had a de facto ban in place on state visits by Queen Elizabeth II to Israel.

"The true reason of course, is that the FO [Foreign Office] has a ban on official royal visits to Israel, which is even more powerful for its being unwritten and unacknowledged.

As an act of delegitimization of Israel, this effective boycott is quite as serious as other similar acts, such as the academic boycott, and is the direct fault of the FO Arabists.

It is, therefore, no coincidence that although the queen has made over 250 official overseas visits to 129 different countries during her reign, neither she nor one single member of the British royal family has ever been to Israel on an official visit,” Roberts told a gala dinner in London.

The historian’s work includes biographies of former British prime ministers Winston Churchill and Neville Chamberlain, as well as Hitler and Roosevelt.

Roberts said that Britain had been at best "a fair-weather friend" to Israel, and even though Queen Elizabeth’s mother-in-law, Princess Alice of Greece, had been recognized as a Righteous Among the Nations for sheltering a Jewish family in her Athens home during the Holocaust, and is buried on the Mount of Olives, Prince Philip had not been allowed to visit his mother’s grave until 1994 – "and then only on a private visit."

"Perhaps her majesty hasn't been on the throne long enough, at 57 years, for the Foreign Office to get round to allowing her to visit one of the only democracies in the Middle East.

At least she could be certain of a warm welcome in Israel, unlike in Morocco, where she was kept waiting by the king for three hours in 90-degree heat, or at the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Uganda the time before last, where they hadn't even finished building her hotel,” Roberts remarked.

Burq-ingham Palace: Hate preacher calls for the Queen to wear full Muslim dress

The Queen forced to wear a burkha and Buckingham Palace turned into a mosque - that was the vision of Britain under Sharia law proposed by a Muslim firebrand today.

Preacher of hate Anjem Choudary even showed mocked-up photographs of the palace sporting a golden dome and Nelson's Column as a minaret.

He was speaking ahead of a demonstration calling for Sharia law planned for Central London tomorrow, which it is feared could descend into violence.

Police are working to avoid a clash between moderate Muslim groups and far-right mobs who have organised rival demonstrations.

But Choudary boasted: 'It only takes a few people to start a full-scale riot in the middle of the city. There are far-right groups hoping to engage us in physical confrontation in Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly. These animals won't come empty handed.'

He claimed: 'The amount of threats we have received has been phenomenal. Bomb threats, death threats, we have received hundreds of them from people saying they are going to come and confront us.'

The cleric and self-styled judge of the Sharia court of the UK said he expected several hundred of his followers to march through Central London calling for Parliament to be abolished in favour of the laws of Allah.

He said: 'We hope to eradicate man-made law from Britain and the world. We call upon Gordon Brown to implement Sharia law and we call upon the Queen to give up playing God. There is only one supreme being.

When Sharia law is implemented, maybe in 10 or 15 years' time, she would be expected like all women in Britain to be covered from head to toe, only revealing her face and hands.'

If Her Majesty refused, he said she would be 'punished' according to Sharia law.

Choudary's sidekick Abu Rumaysahl added: 'Buckingham Palace would become a mosque and play a central role in society.'

At a press conference to outline their vision, Choudary brought in fellow hate cleric Omar Bakri to preach by speaker phone from his exile in Lebanon.

Bakri, banned from Britain four years ago, launched an astonishing diatribe lasting half an hour in which he called for jihad, saying: 'We do not want ourselves to be judged by a man-made law. The struggle for Islam is a struggle worth dying for. Islam must be defended by the sword.'

Choudary and his extremist group Al-Muhajiroun want a legal system in which adulterers and homosexuals would be stoned to death and thieves have their hands chopped off.

He said: 'Thieves would have various warnings first, and only in cases where he has stolen more than £20 of non-perishable goods from a private house would his hand be chopped off.

'We are being realistic, we know it could take time to implement, but it is a fact that in Britain Muslims are predicted to outnumber practising Christians, in terms of going to places of worship, by 2015.'

Choudary, who was not wearing a Remembrance Day poppy, said he did not support the sacrifices of British soldiers. He said: 'We are not allowed to feel sorry for those wars fought for land which served no purpose. Only wars in defence of Allah or your family or property are just wars.'

Choudary said the location of today's demonstration in London was being kept a secret till the last minute to avoid violent clashes. Members of the group English Defence League are expected to try to disrupt the event.

But moderate Muslim groups accused Choudary of running scared of engaging with them. Tehmina Kazi, director of British Muslims for Secular Democracy, said: 'It sounds like pure cowardice. He is afraid of engaging with ordinary patriotic British Muslims who have a sense of tolerance and fair play.

'We stand up for mainstream Muslims who see no conflict between their religion and being British. Anjem Choudary tries to be as provocative as possible, and everything he says undermines community cohesion and is a slap in the face to every patriotic British person.'

Although Choudary refused to say so, penalties under Sharia law for not wearing a burqa include a woman being repeatedly lashed with a stick or a cable.

Tory MP Patrick Mercer branded Choudary's plans 'extremely distasteful' and added: 'If anyone thinks those views are a step forward they are seriously deluded. They are repellent and repulsive.'

The Islamic Society of Britain said: '99.999 per cent of Muslims despise these people.'

Buckingham Mosque ...what fanatics want to call the Palace

A FANATICAL Muslim group campaigning to impose sharia law on Britain wants to turn Buckingham Palace into a mosque, it was revealed last night.

Days before a potentially incendiary rally in central London, the hardline Islam4UK group claims to have uncovered historical evidence which challenges the right of the Queen to live at the royal property.

Notorious hate preacher Anjem Choudary is calling for the palace to be renamed Buckingham Masjid, the Arabic word for mosque.

The Mall, which approaches the palace, would become Masjid Road.

Choudary, the right-hand man of exiled cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, spoke out as he urged Muslims across Britain to join Saturday’s rally to demand a complete overhaul of the British legal system and the introduction of sharia courts.

The protest is due to begin at 1pm outside the Houses of Parliament and end at Trafalgar Square, less than a mile from Buckingham Palace, raising concerns over security.

Last night angry politicians and fellow Muslims condemned Choudary’s comments.

Tory MP Philip Davies compared Choudary to the leader of the BNP, saying: “This man’s a complete idiot. He’s the Muslim equivalent to Nick Griffin. I’m all for free speech and people having the right to have their say but, equally, there are all these ridiculous laws the Government has introduced about inciting racial hatred. Quite clearly, that’s what he is doing.

“If these laws are in place, they have to work both ways – they can’t apply to just one group of people.”

In a rambling diatribe, Choudary wrote on the Islam4UK website: “There is a spark that has ignited and its flame has become unstoppable.

“In recent years the world has witnessed an Islamic resurgence which continues to grow in strength.

“We find ourselves in the year 2009, waiting for Rome to fall, waiting for the White House to fall and indeed waiting for Buckingham Palace to fall.”

Choudary said that under sharia law the Queen’s official residence in London would have a dome fitted and a tannoy system to call followers to prayer.

The Palace would be used as a judiciary court for handing down sharia punishments and a detention place for “prisoners of war”.

In addition, the building would become the headquarters of the Islamic States’ supreme leadership and the Department of Information and Culture.

Choudary also called for the Crown Jewels to be melted down into “more appealing jewellery, free from idolatrous engravings or symbols such as crosses or human beings”.

Islam4UK’s website shows mock-up images of the Palace as a mosque and the Crown Jewels being melted.

Choudary added: “At present, Buckingham Palace is nothing more than a hollow building exploited by the rich and withheld from any real use.

“Under the sharia this would never happen, rather the British community would see it converted into a flourishing mosque which would be of a great benefit, not only for those residing in London but also the country as a whole.”

The Islam4UK movement is made up of leading members of the banned radical al-Muhajiroun group which was once led by Choudary. Around 15 per cent of people convicted in the UK of terrorism-related offences in the last decade were either members of the group or had links to it.

The Centre for Social Cohesion last night warned of the dangers of Choudary’s preachings.

Houriya Ahmed, a researcher for the independent think-tank , said: “I think they are just doing this for publicity.

“Anjem Choudary is a ridiculous man. But that does not mean his ideology is not dangerous.”

Muslim leader Abdul Hamid Qureshi, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said: “The sad fact is that this organisation is driving the agenda. What they are saying is totally wrong. They are only a small bunch of people. There is no sense in it – it is not Islam.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We are discussing the potential demonstrations on October 31.”

U.K.: Jihadist preacher Anjem Choudary calls on Queen to convert to Islam

The invitation to Islam has long been a prelude to war if the invited party fails to return an RSVP in the affirmative:

Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war...When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them....If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)

That hadith restates and elaborates upon Qur'an 9:29, which offers unbelievers conversion, subjugation or death:

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Choudary is not deluding himself that the Queen is likely to break into programming on the BBC and recite the shehada, the Islamic profession of faith. He's just following protocol. "Hate preacher tells Queen: Turn Muslim," by Simon Hughes for Sun, October 18:

Hate preacher Anjem Choudary sparked fury yesterday after calling for the Queen to become Muslim.

He demanded an Islamic revolution across Britain.

Choudary, 42, said Her Majesty - head of the Church of England - should convert to ensure her place in paradise.

He also wants to see senior members of the Government switching faiths. Choudary, a key henchman of rabble rousing cleric Omar Bakri, said: "We invite everyone from the Queen, to the ministers, to the Parliament, to the aristocracy, to the ordinary person in Britain to embrace Islam.

"Save yourself and your children in this life from misery and prepare them for a great destiny in the hereafter."

He made his call during an internet rant to promote a march in London later this month supporting Sharia law.

The ex-lawyer also made a scathing reference to the next general election, declaring: "Britain does not need a new leader, it needs a revolution - an Islamic revolution."

Labour MP Andrew Dismore said: "It'd be laughable if we didn't know that some take this man seriously." A Muslim group branded Choudary an "extremist nut".

That was MPACUK, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee in the U.K., seizing on a moment at which Choudary's "extremism" might make them look "moderate," though their own track record is none too impressive, either.

Fanatics’ call to prosecute Queen

FANATICS led by a sponging Islamic extremist enraged MPs yesterday by publicly demanding the Queen is prosecuted – for GENOCIDE.

Islamist Choudary goes on to preach ” She is the one who applauds her sons and daughters to go out and massacre hundreds of thousands of innocent people”– words spoken while bilking on handouts at the hands of the British taxpayer.

Rabble-rouser Anjem Choudary’s cohorts accused British troops of wiping out the civilian population in Afghanistan and said it was Her Majesty’s fault because she is “the head of this country”.

In an internet rant to fellow extremist Muslims, they declare: “She is the one who applauds her sons and daughters to go out and massacre hundreds and thousands of innocent people.

“Shouldn’t she be tried for genocide and the extermination of a nation?” The fanatics insist: “Yes.”

Labour MP Andrew Dismore said of the shameful attack that appeared on a website linked to Choudary: “Never mind calling for the prosecution of the Queen. The Queen should prosecute HIM. It’s about time he was busted.”

Fellow MP Patrick Mercer – chairman of the Commons counter- terrorism sub-committee – branded it an “insult to our monarch.”

The ex-soldier stormed: “We must recognise Mr Choudary’s words for what they are – weapons being wielded by al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

“This is the next phase of an enemy operation in our country.”

Would his sermon not aptly apply to much of the Muslim world and carried beyond, where it is commonplace to exact strife and brutality upon innocents in the name of Islam? Choudary in all of his cowardice and postured holy stance would no doubt have been swallowed whole by the past Elizabeth, a thought unbearable to a Muslim extremist, especially at the hands of a woman.

If the Queen is to be admonished for anything, it would stem from the forgetfullness of the warrior words of a Queen past, stern and brandished by a fierce virtue and loyal duty to her land and people; the young, red-headed Queen who would have proudly and fearlessly stood up in the face of such thuggery, mockery, contempt and brutishness.

Conservative American commentators have accused Barack Obama of "grovelling" to an Arab monarch at the G20 summit in London.

A photo and video footage of the US President bowing to Saudi Arabian King Abdullah at yesterday's G20 meet-and-greet has been doing the rounds on the internet today.

Mr Obama appears to shake the King's hand and then bow from the waist while French President Nicholas Sarkozy looks on.

Leading conservative blogger Michelle Malkin and Dakota Voice both wrote of their outrage at the President's deference to a foreign monarch.

"The whole thing is embarrassing. Its like the `American Hillbillies go to Europe'," Malkin wrote.

"He is throwing American power and prestige out with both hands as fast as he can."

Dakota Voice contributor Bob Ellis said the bow was a gesture of submission.

"The leader of the most free nation in the world should not be slobbering on the ring of some king," Ellis wrote.

But American etiquette expert Gloria Starr, who has met the King's wife and hosted two of their daughters in her finishing schools, told smh.com.au there was nothing wrong with Mr Obama's display of deference.

"I think it was a sign of respect and in no way diminishes the ranking of the President or indicates the greater strength of the one being bowed to," Ms Starr said.

"I bowed, wore the attire, ate the figs as a sign of respect when I was in Saudi.

"I applaud the President for showing this courtesy."

Former president George Bush was criticised for holding the hand of then-crown prince Abdullah during the monarch's visit to America four years ago.

But Obama's gaffe did not rate a mention in the mainstream US media, despite Michelle Obama's tactile approach to the Queen at the same function.

The Times noted: "Protocol dictates that no one should touch the Queen - as the Australian Paul Keating learnt to his cost - but she seemed comfortable with Michelle Obama's embrace at Buckingham Palace."

Keating was blasted by the British media and branded the "Lizard of Oz" when pictures emerged of him putting a friendly arm around the Queen to guide her through a function at Parliament House in Canberra in 1992.

Queen of England congratulates Iranian Mullahs on their 30th Anniversary

Feb. 10, 2009: Queen Elizabeth congratulates the Islamic Republic for "national" day. In a brief notice on her official website, the Queen of England sent her greetings to the ruling clerics of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She is the only foreign leader we know of who has ever referred to the anniversary of the Khomeinist revolution as Iran's "national" day. For the record, the Islamic Republic itself has decreed April 1 - not February 10 - as its "independence day," because that was the day in 1980 that the Islamic Republic regime was officially decreed. Many Iranians consider their true independence day to be August 5, the anniversary of the 1906 constitutional revolution).

Iranians have long suspected the British government of interfering in Iran's internal affairs; some have accused Britain of conspiring with Khomeini in 1979 to bring down the Shah. The Queen's statement could have been written by modern Iranian novelist Iraj Pezeshkzad, whose comic hero, dear Uncle Napolean, saw a British hand behind every ill of Iranian society.

Prince Harry apologises for racial slur

PRINCE Harry has been forced to apologise, this time after a British newspaper aired footage of him using offensive and racist language.

Prince Harry has been caught on camera calling a fellow British officer a "paki" and a "raghead".

In the video published by The News of The World Harry calls a member of his army platoon a "Paki" and tells another he looked like a "raghead".

It comes four years after the prince caused controversy by wearing a Nazi swastika at a fancy dress party.

The video, made by the prince in 2006 when he was still an officer cadet, begins as he is waiting at an airport with his comrades for a flight to a training exercise in Cyprus.

Spotting an Asian cadet, he says: "Anybody else around here?... Ah, our little Paki friend, Ahmed."

"Paki" is a derogatory term for Indians or Pakistanis.

Harry makes the second remark while on the exercise.

Once again he is behind the camera when he spots one of his colleagues with what appears to be camouflage netting over his head and as he looks up at the lens, Harry says: "It's Dan the Man... F*** me, you look like a raghead."

"Raghead" is a racist term for Arabs.

The prince is also shown apparently talking on a mobile phone to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, until he is forced to hang up by a comrade.

He says: "Granny, I've got to go. Send my love to the corgis. And grandpa... God Save You... yeah, that's great. See you, bye."

The News of the World made the video available on its website.

The royal family issued an apology, but insisted the prince had used the term "Paki" "without malice".

"Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term can be, and is extremely sorry for any offence his words might cause," a statement said.

"However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon.

"There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend.

The statement added: "Prince Harry used the term 'raghead' to mean Taliban or Iraqi insurgent."

The prince served with the army fighting Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan last year but was forced to return home amid security fears after a carefully arranged media blackout on his deployment was broken.

Now an army lieutenant, he is to begin training soon as an army combat helicopter pilot.

Britain's equalities watchdog, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the racism claims "appear to be disturbing allegations".

"We will be asking the MoD (Ministry of Defence) to see the evidence, share that evidence with us and their plans for dealing with it," a spokeswoman said.

"We will then consider what further action might be necessary."

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence said: "Neither the Army nor the Armed Forces tolerates inappropriate behaviour in any shape or form.

"The Army takes all allegations of inappropriate behaviour very seriously and all substantive allegations are investigated.

"We are not aware of any complaint having been made by the individual," the spokeswoman said, referring to "Ahmed".

She added: "Bullying and racism are not endemic in the Armed Forces."

It is not the first time that the youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana has been forced to apologise for his actions.

His decision to attend a friend's fancy dress birthday party wearing a swastika armband in 2005 sparked widespread criticism. The publication of those photographs in a newspaper was followed by a swift apology from the royals.

In the past, it emerged he had smoked cannabis as a teenager and he was once involved in a nightclub scuffle with a paparazzi photographer, but in recent years Harry has sought to shake off his 'playboy prince' reputation.

He is heavily involved in a charity in Lesotho to support children orphaned by AIDS which was launched in memory of his mother and is patron of several other children's charities.

Iran's president to deliver Christmas message on British TV

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will deliver an alternative Christmas message on British television to rival Queen Elizabeth II's annual address.

Mr Ahmadinejad will give a brief speech on Channel Four which will go out on 7:15pm (local time) on Christmas Day.

A Channel Four spokesman said the message is a spiritual one and includes Mr Ahmadinejad's wishes for seasonal goodwill.

Channel Four has invited a figure in the news to deliver an alternative Christmas message to the queen's annual broadcast every year since 1993 but Mr Ahmadinejad is the most high-profile guest yet.

The channel's head of news and current affairs Dorothy Byrne said: "As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad's views are enormously influential.

"As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view."

Britain and Iran have rocky relations, particularly over Iran's disputed nuclear programme.

In October, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband warned of a possible nuclear arms race in the Middle East if Iran was allowed to press ahead unchecked with a uranium enrichment programme.

In response, Tehran accused Miliband of having "strong ties with Zionists".
