When Ed Husain famously renounced Islamism there were some who warned that, despite his denunciation of Hizb ut Tahrir and Islamist ideology, he remained dangerously confused and should not be treated as a serious reformer. I thought this was too harsh. He had, after all, bravely taken an enormous step out of the darkness; surely he had to be given time and encouragement to adjust properly to the light. Surely it was a good thing that he was encouraging young British Muslims to turn away from Islamic radicalism. The extreme importance of that task was such that, even when he wrote a stupid and ignorant piece about Zionism, I hoped that if he was now told the truth about the history of Israel and the Jewish people, he would realise the error of his thinking on that particular issue. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Muslims Islamofascists in American mosques praying for destruction of Israel

I am getting reports from sources inside American mosques that the dua qunoot -- a prayer for the destruction of Allah's enemies -- is being added to the regular prayers in American mosques. The prayer, which concludes, "Undoubtedly, your torment is going to overtake infidels," is being added to every raka'ah, or unit of Islamic prayer (salah). There are, of course, five prescribed prayers per day, and those are comprised of a total of 17 raka'ahs. So 17 times a day, pious Muslims in the United States are praying these days for the destruction of the enemies of Allah -- by which Israel is clearly meant.

The YouTube video features a famous imam, Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy, praying the qunoot prayer earlier this year for Gaza. This video is being sent around Muslim lists.

Ohio Terror Sheikh Salah Sultan Preaches Jew Hatred, Threatens US on Egyptian TV

Salah Sultan, internationally renowned Islamic hate sheikh from Hilliard, Ohio, was recorded yesterday on Egyptian Al-Nas TV preaching Jew hatred and spewing conspiracy filth. In his interview, Sultan approvingly cites the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Sultan also warns of the forthcoming descruction and deaths of Americans, vowing that more Americans will be killed than Palestinians in Gaza - and soon! (Hmmm...what could he possibly be talking about??? And how would he know???)

Wonder what his friends at the Noor Islamic Cultural Center, especially his best friend and mosque president Hany Saqr, think about that? Oh, and did I mention that Sultan used to be the religious director at the Islamic school in Hilliard, Sunrise Academy, and the scholar-in-residence for the Islamic Society of Greater Columbus? They have any thoughts on his comments? And was this what Sultan was preaching while he was touring Columbus-area mosques this month?

U.S. Muslims Islamofascists to Hold White House 'Vigil for Gaza'

On Wednesday, December 31, American Muslims and other people of conscience will gather outside the White House in Washington, D.C., for a "New Year's Eve Candlelight Vigil for Gaza." The vigil is sponsored by the American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT), a coalition of 12 major Islamic organizations.

Vigil participants will call on public officials to help stop Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, restore the cease-fire and promote peace with justice in the Middle East during the coming year.

Pakistani terrorist leader Zarar Shah linked to Mumbai attacks

MORE evidence of a link between a Pakistan-based Islamist group and last month's terrorist attacks in Mumbai has emerged after a leading member of the organisation allegedly admitted his complicity.

Zarar Shah, a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba, told investigators that he was in contact with the gunmen involved in the attacks, according to senior Pakistani sources.

Shah was arrested this month along with Zakiaur Rehman, another LET commander, in a raid on a militant camp in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir.

Indian and Western security agencies had accused the pair of masterminding the attacks, which claimed the lives of 165 people in India's commercial capital and stoked tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.

Shah is said to be the communication chief of LET, which was outlawed by Pakistan in 2002 but continued to operate under the banner of Jamaat-ud-Dawa.

"He is singing," a security official said of Shah. The admission, the official said, was backed up by US intercepts of a phone call between Shah and one of the attackers at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, the site of a 60-hour confrontation with Indian security forces.

A second person familiar with the investigation said Shah told Pakistani interrogators he was one of the key planners of the operation, and that he spoke with the attackers during the rampage to give them advice and keep them focused.

The source said Shah had implicated other LET members, and had broadly confirmed the story told by the sole captured gunman to Indian investigators - that the 10 assailants trained in Pakistan's part of Kashmir and then went by boat from Karachi to Mumbai. Shah said the attackers also spent at least a few weeks in Karachi training in urban combat.

The Mumbai attacks have stoked tensions in India and Pakistan, producing allegations and counter-allegations that have both countries headed towards conflict.

Pakistan recently redeployed some troops from the fight against Islamic militants towards the Indian border, and India warned its citizens not to travel to Pakistan. India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed, have fought three wars since their independence in 1947.

Saudi FM Criticizes Palestinians, says Palestinian divisions led to Israeli assault, in sign of frustration with Hamas

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister on Wednesday blamed Palestinian divisions for Israel's onslaught on Gaza, a reflection of U.S.-allied Arab governments' anger at the Hamas militant group.

Saud al-Faisal made the comments at an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers in the Egyptian capital, convened to try to put together a joint response by the deeply divided Arab nations to the Israeli offensive, which has killed more than 370 Palestinians and sparked outrage across the Middle East.

Pro-U.S. Arab countries — Egypt, in particular — have come under heavy criticism in widespread street protests, as well as from Iran, Hamas, the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, for allegedly not doing enough to stop Israel or help Gazans. Officials and pro-government media in Egypt and Saudi Arabia have responded by blaming Hamas for provoking Israel and accusing the militant group of being a proxy promoting the power of regional rival Iran.

Saud's comments criticizing the Palestinians were notable because in past Israeli offensives against Arabs, Arab leaders would rarely voice anything but heavy condemnations against Israel. Saud stopped short of directly criticizing Hamas — but it was clear from his talk of "Palestinian divisions" that his words were directed at the militant group, which took over the Gaza Strip in 2007 in a battle against loyalists of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

"This terrible massacre would not have happened if the Palestinian people were united behind one leadership speaking in one voice," Saud said at the league meeting's opening. Read more ...
