Nov. 9 - Prices of bread and other necessities have begun to rise. The official daily Etemad wrote, ” after introducing some economic plans regarding subsidies of goods the price of food rose. Reports from the food bazaar say that hth price of one egg has risen from 120 Tomans to 150 Tomans and even the price of bread has risen. In some regions of Tehran the price of Sangak bread is up to 2000 Tomans and Barbari bread is up to 600 Tomans. The prices of cleaning solutions too have risen. Price of one kilo of sugar cubes has risen from 830 to 960 Tomans”.
Analysis. World threats reported on a Debka article a few days ago that said that the food subsidy funds were being put under the direct control of Ahmadinejad. These price rises are the obvious result.
