When five young Muslims from northern Virginia were arrested in Pakistan for trying to join jihadist groups, the local Muslim community professed to be puzzled as to how it could have happened. Ashraf Nubani, an attorney for the mosque the five attended, said of their relatives and fellow worshippers: “There’s shock and disbelief in these families and in this mosque.” Mahdi Bray of the Falls Church-based Muslim American Society, sounded a plaintive note: “We want to know: What did we miss? We saw these kids every day. In hindsight, what could we have done?” If Mahdi Bray saw these young men daily, that might have been a clue right there as to what went wrong. For the Muslim American Society (MAS) is the American arm of the international Islamic supremacist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood, the forefather of Al-Qaeda and Hamas.
A captured internal Brotherhood document says that the Brotherhood’s mission in the U.S. is “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” And according to a 2004 Chicago Tribune expose of Brotherhood activity in the U.S., “to be an ‘active’ member” of the Muslim American Society, “–the highest membership class–one must complete five years of Muslim community service and education, which includes studying writings by Brotherhood ideologues al-Banna and Qutb.” These are the Muslim Brotherhood’s two great theorists, its founder Hasan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb, “the father of modern [Islamic] fundamentalism.” Of these, Qutb is the more influential today. His writings can be found easily in Islamic bookstores in the U.S. And Americans, particularly law enforcement officials, should know what’s in them. Sayyid Qutb actually lived in the United States from November 1948 to August 1950, and wrote about his experiences in revealing ways. While hospitalized for a respiratory ailment in Washington, D.C., in February 1949, he heard of the assassination of al-Banna, an event which, he later claimed implausibly, set the hospital staff to open rejoicing. His disgust with the gaudy materialism of postwar America was intense. He wrote to an Egyptian friend of his loneliness: “How much do I need someone to talk to about topics other than money, movie stars and car models.” Moving to Greeley, Colorado, he was impressed by the number of churches in the city, but not with the piety they engendered: “Nobody goes to church as often as Americans do. . . . Yet no one is as distant as they are from the spiritual aspect of religion.” He was thoroughly scandalized by a dance after an evening service at a local church: “The dancing intensified. . . . The hall swarmed with legs . . . Arms circled arms, lips met lips, chests met chests, and the atmosphere was full of love.”
The pastor further scandalized Qutb by dimming the lights, creating “a romantic, dreamy effect,” and playing a popular record of the day: “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” He regarded American popular music in general with a gimlet eye: “Jazz is the favorite music [of America]. It is a type of music invented by [American] Blacks to please their primitive tendencies and desire for noise.” More at FPM
One might say that the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy K-8 charter school in suburban St. Paul is an Islamic school in all but name, except that that even its name is Islamic. Among other things, the school's principal is an imam and almost all of its students are Muslim. It is housed in a building that was owned originally by the Muslim American Society of Minnesota (I'm not sure who owns it now). The school has in any event had a mutually beneficial relationship with MAS Minnesota since the school's inception. The study of Arabic is required at the school. The Arabic comes in handy for the Koranic studies that follow the regular school day. The ACLU Minnesota has brought a lawsuit challenging the legality of the school's operation on public funds; the lawsuit is pending in federal court in Minnesota. Discussing the lawsuit, ACLU Minnesota executive director Chuck Samuelson observed: "The issue with TiZA, frankly, was the incredible commingling of church and state. It's a theocratic school. It is as plain as the substantial nose on my face." As a result of Samuelson's statement of the ACLU Minnesota's position in the lawsuit, TiZA alleged that Samuelson and the ACLU had defamed it, asserting several counterclaims against the ACLU Minnesota for amounts in excess of $100,000 (i.e., an unlimited amount). The ACLU Minnesota's lawsuit against TiZA is predicated on the establishment clause of the First Amendment as interpreted by the Supreme Court. I was quite sure that there was another clause of the First Amendment that applied to TiZA's counterclaims against the ACLU Minnesota, but even the common law of defamation provides that truth is a defense. As I I anticipated, Minnesota federal district Judge Donovan Frank has now summarily dismissed TiZA's counterclaims. In an order issued yesterday afternoon Judge Frank held that, as a public school, TiZA could not assert a claim for defamation. As to the merits of TiZA's defamation and defamation-related claims, Judge Frank held that "the allegedly defamatory statements all reflect Plaintiff's belief [that TiZA is illegally operating as a religious school] and TiZA has alleged no facts that would demonstrate that Plaintiff entertains any doubts as to the truth of its statements."
TiZA therefore had "wholly failed" to allege facts making out the actual malice constitutionally required to support a claim of defamation by a public official or, Judge Frank holds, a public school. In asserting its defamation and defamation-related counterclaims against Samuelson and the ACLU Minnesota, TiZA was taking a leaf from the old Islamist playbook written by CAIR. The irony in this case is that TiZA pretends to be a nonsectarian institution; it is this pretense that goes to the heart of the pending lawsuit. I spoke briefly with Chuck Samuelson about Judge Frank's order last night. He expressed the "hope that this counterclaim is really dead and that we can move this case along. These are issues that need to be aired and we await a speedy judgment." Power Line
by Stephen Suleyman SchwartzExecutive Director, Center for Islamic Pluralism After the recent slaughter at Fort Hood , Texas , commentators and politicians have asked whether political correctness or fear of being criticized as Islamophobic discouraged his colleagues in the military from thoroughly examining the extremist beliefs of Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the accused killer in the military-base massacre.
Some of the non-Muslims who knew him have said, probably correctly – and unfortunately – that they did not know enough about Islam, especially in its radical forms, to assess Hasan’s views. But the weak outcome of a 2003 Senatorial appeal for an inquiry into Islamist financing in America – along with other curious lapses of attention – show that the military is not alone in cringing at the task of investigating Muslim radicals. At the end of 2003, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee sent a letter to the Internal Revenue Service, signed by the committee’s then-chairman, Senator Chuck Grassley, Republican of Iowa, and its then-ranking Democrat, Senator Max Baucus of Montana. (Baucus is now the committee’s chairman.)
The Senate Committee called on the IRS to collect financial information on 24 Islamist groups operating in the U.S.: Al-Haramain Foundation Alavi Foundation Benevolence International Foundation Global Relief Foundation Help the Needy Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development Human Appeal International Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America International Islamic Relief Organization or Internal Relief Organization Islamic African Relief Society and/or Islamic American Relief Agency Islamic Assembly of North America Islamic Association for Palestine Islamic Circle of North America Islamic Foundation of America Islamic Society of North America Kind Hearts Muslim Arab Youth Association Muslim Student Association Muslim World League Rabita Trust SAAR Foundation and all members and related entities Solidarity International and/or Solidarity USA United Association for Studies and Research World Assembly of Muslim Youth Most of these organizations are obscure for ordinary, non-Muslim Americans even today. But with the exception of the Iran-directed Alavi Foundation, which was the object of an assets seizure proceeding this month, and leaving aside the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS), and a few other absent players, the list provides a map of the “Wahhabi lobby” of radical Muslim proponents in American.
These organizations are financed by, and in some cases act as direct agencies of, powerful institutions in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, in tandem with their allies in the Muslim Brotherhood. Late in 2005, however, Senator Grassley first announced that investigation of the 24 groups had ended inconclusively, with no evidence of anything “alarming” beyond the capacity for ordinary response by law enforcement; he then reversed his posture and said that his committee would continue collecting information on them. But the Senate Finance Committee produced nothing new after that. More at Hudson New York
A picture of Nidal Malik Hasan is emerging from the slaughter he carried out Thursday during a ceremony at a Fort Hood readiness center, leaving 13 people dead and another 30 wounded. Born in Virginia, sent to medical school by the U.S. Army, the psychiatrist was chastised for proselytizing to his patients about Islam. Asked his nationality, he didn't identify himself as an American but as a Palestinian. He appeared pleased by the shooting death of a Little Rock Army recruiter in June and reportedly was heard saying "maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Times Square." In the fateful moment before he opened fire on his unarmed victims, he shouted "Allahu Akhbar." With each new disclosure, some media outlets and organized Islamist groups increasingly are trying to deflect attention away from Hasan's religious motivation. In a statement condemning the attack, the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation referenced past shootings by soldiers on their bases and cited the suicide rate at Fort Hood. The Muslim American Society is the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States. "In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews.
One of the nation's major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members." -- Chicago Tribune, 2004. And the Muslim Brotherhood's self-proclaimed goal in the U.S. is the destruction of American society and the imposition of Sharia in this country. The Muslim Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." -- "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America," by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991. "Man accused in Boston terror plot is son of former Muslim American Society leader: Father moves out of town weeks after son questioned by the FBI," from Americans for Peace and Tolerance, October 23 (thanks to all who sent this in): Media reports on the Boston terror arrest have named three individuals as conspirators in the plot to machine gun people in shopping malls and kill American officials. Two, Daniel Maldonado and Tareq Mehanna, are in custody. The third, however, Ahmad Abousamra, escaped to Syria after being questioned by the FBI in 2006. According to the complaint, it was Abousamra who introduced Maldonado and Mehanna to each other during an afternoon of watching "jihad videos" in which Islamic terrorists killed and mutilated American soldiers. Abousamra seems to be the most extremist of the three, as well as the one most educated in radical Islamist ideology. According to the criminal complaint: "Abousamra expressed his belief that suicide bombings were permissible. ... Abousamra found justification for his position in the religious writings of Muslim extremists. Abousamra justified attacks on civilians, such as the September 11, 2001 attacks. Abousamra stated that civilians were not innocent because they paid taxes to support the government and because they were Kufar (non-believers). ... Abousamra always justified their extremist views by citing Islamic teachings." Ahmad Abousamra is the oldest son of Abdul-Badi Abousamra, former vice president of the Boston branch of the Muslim American Society, which operates the largest Islamic center in the Northeast. The MAS has branches in 34 cities within 23 states. The Muslim American Society, according to Federal prosecutors, "was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America." By Joe Kaufman Last month, a video was released by the Muslim American Society’s (MAS) Media Foundation – the first episode of its new program entitled ‘The Muslim American Perspective’ or ‘MAP.’ During one of the segments, footage was shown from an anti-Israel protest depicting a young boy holding a sign bearing the MAS logo. Given MAS’s ties to an international terror syndicate and given the circumstances surrounding the individual the child was with, the demonstration (along with the video) was a clear case of exploitation of children, and it cannot go ignored. On November 13, 2006, Mahdi Bray, the Executive Director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation and a former convict, announced at a demonstration against Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that he was going to defy the law by sitting on the sidewalk in front of the White House. Whilst complaining about the American policy towards the Jewish state, standing alongside a young boy, Bray proudly said, “Because of my faith, because of my commitment, I choose to go to correct this with my hands by going over, sitting in that sidewalk, and offering myself to arrest.” Soon, Bray and the child – both holding signs with MAS logos on them and accompanied by protest goers – sat down next to one another in front of the White House gates. A circle of police vehicles surrounded the area. Over a police loudspeaker was heard, “You must leave the closed portion of the White House sidewalk now. All persons remaining on the closed portion of the White House sidewalk will be arrested.” Read more ...Source: FPM
Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), a Muslim, traveled to Saudi Arabia to visit Mecca late last year to make the hajj pilgrimage as required under the tenets of Islam. This was a personal and private trip, Ellison claimed in a July 23rd letter to the Minnesota Star-Tribune. He reported to the House Ethics Committee that his trip to Mecca was funded by the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS-MN), a non-profit organization. Ellison's letter responded to a Star-Tribune report about the MAS-funding of his trip. The story also identified concern about how MAS-MN received "grants" totaling almost $900,000 from the MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation, a subordinate entity of MAS-MN. The holding corporation collected state rent money for the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a public charter school run by MAS-MN. The grants from the holding company to MAS-MN nearly equaled the amount it received in state rent money for 2006-07. Taxpayer money did not finance his trip, Ellison said in his letter to the editor. The Star-Tribune cited a spokesman for TIZA who claimed MAS-MN stopped receiving Minnesota state rent money through its property holding corporation after 2007, and since Ellison made his trip to Mecca the end of 2008, no TIZA-related state money could have been involved in paying for Ellison's travel. Since 2008, the spokesman said, TIZA rent money from the state was paid to an entity called the Minnesota Education Trust. Minnesota corporate records, however, show that Minnesota Education Trust is located at the same St. Paul address as the MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation. IRS non-profit tax returns for the Trust identified two organization officials. The president is listed as Asif Rahman. The other official is Asad Zaman. The two men are listed in similar position on tax forms for the MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation. Zaman also is listed as the executive director for the TIZA charter school on its tax forms. On all those tax returns, TIZA claimed to have no affiliation with any other organizations. It also claimed none of its organization officials shared a relationship with officials in any other organization. Yet another TIZA board member, Hesham Hussein, is also a corporate official of the Muslim American Society in Minnesota. Rahman and Zaman are officials of the MAS-MN Property Holding Corporation and the Minnesota Education Trust. Rahman was previously identified as a local official of Islamic Relief, the charter school sponsor for TIZA. Last week, a leading Muslim Brotherhood front group in the U.S. met with a Palestinian television crew consisting of representatives from Al Quds Educational TV and the Jerusalem Center for Studies and Islamic media. The television crew, according to a State Department cable, is working on several documentaries on the life of Muslims in America and will travel to Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Salt Lake City between July 13-30 to conduct interviews with local Muslim leaders, visit Muslim organizations, and meet with U.S. government officials. The purported aim of the documentaries is to improve attitudes of Palestinians toward U.S. policies and Americans. The visit, sponsored by the State Department under its International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), is yet another glaring instance of a government agency partnering with Islamist groups that are tied to terrorism or have links to the global Muslim Brotherhood and espouse its radical ideology. The Muslim Brotherhood group in question is the Muslim American Society (MAS). MAS hosted the Palestinian television crew at its Washington, D.C. office. MAS was founded as the US chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood, the international Islamist, anti-Western organization whose ultimate aim is to establish a worldwide caliphate dominated by Muslims, Islam, and Islamic Shariah law. A MAS press release following the event claimed the delegation met with Mahdi Bray, who represents the public face of MAS through his position as the executive director of its "activist wing," the Freedom Foundation. An African-American convert to Islam, Bray has a long history of defending individuals and groups having alleged and in some cases proven ties to terrorism. He has been overtly critical of American foreign and security policies, alleging the government is engaged in a war with Islam. By Joe Kaufman Earlier this year, I wrote of a young female leader from the Muslim American Society (MAS), Mashal Azhar, and of the e-mails that she had sent me. She was upset at my group’s slogan, “Fighting Hate with Truth.” She had believed it was dishonest. She was mistaken. In the course of our correspondence, Azhar was unusually candid in describing her and her group’s goal of creating a new America and bringing her brand of Islam to the masses. Recently, I had the opportunity to communicate with another young female involved with MAS. Her responses were as disturbing as Azhar’s, if not more so. On June 12, 2009, I received the following from an individual going by the name Sabrena Hamdan, concerning the website of our group, Americans Against Hate (AAH): “Dear whom ever this is addressed to, I have recently seen your website and really am taken aback. Not in a good way no no. More like a ‘stricken how can a human being be this dishonest’ sort of aback. 99.9% OF THE THINGS ON YOUR WEBSITE ARE NOT EVEN REAL FACTS.” Without offering any specifics to back up her accusation, she then listed six quotes that she found on our site, quotes that we had previously used as evidence of the violence and hatred being propagated by the Muslim American Society (MAS), an organization that Hamdan later said she was involved with. They were: • The Holy Prophet (and through him the Muslims) has been reassured that he should not mind the enmity, the evil designs and the machinations of the Jews...”
• “In view of the degenerate moral condition of the Jews and the Christians, the Believers have been warned not to make them their friends and confidants.”
• “If you gain a victory over the men of Jews, kill them.”
• “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say, ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.’”
• “May Allah destroy the Jews, because they used the graves of their prophets as places of worship.”
• “A Muslim must always worship Allah and wage jihad until death in order to reach his ultimate goal... Regularly make the intention to go on jihad with the ambition to die as a martyr.” Read more ... Source: FPMMAS Latest recipient of the Distinguished Islamofascist Award
APPELLATE RULES KAUFMAN A JOURNALIST AND RULES THAT CASE HAS NO MERIT TO CONTINUE (Dallas, TX) The lawsuit and restraining order that were filed against the Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH) Joe Kaufman by seven Dallas-area Muslim organizations, in October 2007, were thrown out this past week by the State of Texas Court of Appeals, Second District of Texas Fort Worth.
The seven plaintiffs included the Muslim American Society (MAS), which the U.S. government has called a front for the extremist Muslim Brotherhood, and three Islamic centers owned by the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), an organization that was named a co-conspirator in the 2007/2008 Holy Land Foundation (HLF) Hamas financing trial.
The groups claimed in the lawsuit that Kaufman had written an article for FrontPage Magazine that libeled them, yet not one of the groups was actually named in the article. It was about the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and its connection to the financing of terrorism overseas. Kaufman, in October 2007, had flown to Texas to lead a demonstration outside an ICNA-sponsored event to expose this information to the public.
Regarding the restraining order or “temporary injunction,” the groups admitted under oath that neither Kaufman nor his group had ever threatened them in any way, shape or form. Indeed, with respect to this case, it was Kaufman and his organization that received a threat, before Kaufman’s arrival in Texas.
The case was placed in the Appellate, after the presiding judge refused to rule on whether or not Kaufman was a “media defendant” and refused to rule on the case (“summary judgment”) prior to it going to trial.
The Appellate dealt with both issues, stating that Kaufman was a “media defendant” and deserved all the rights provided to print journalists. And the Appellate moved to dismiss the case, on the grounds that the article written by Kaufman was not about and did not mention any of the plaintiffs or “appellees.” The Appellate basically agreed with everything that Kaufman and his attorneys were arguing and shot down the arguments from the losing side.
One of the more embarrassing arguments from the other side was that Joe Kaufman ran FrontPage Magazine. FrontPage, in reality, is run by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and Kaufman is a columnist for it. Both Kaufman and David Horowitz wrote and filed affidavits attesting to this. The plaintiffs worked hard to have these affidavits thrown out.
From the start of the case, Kaufman has called the lawsuit “entirely frivolous” and stated that it was only brought to harm Kaufman financially and to stop him from writing about the terrorism ties of the plaintiffs’ friends. In the end, the case was an important victory for Freedom of Speech.

There is growing circumstantial evidence that former Muslim American Society (MAS) President Esam Omeish is waging a stealth campaign in his bid to win Tuesday's Democratic primary for Virginia's House of Delegates District 35. As we've noted, the Omeish campaign has been silent on his past leadership at MAS, an organization founded by the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States. And he has done all he can to ignore his incendiary 2000 speech praising Palestinians who choose "the jihad way" to liberation. In 2007, media attention on that speech prompted Omeish to resign from a state immigration panel to which Gov. Tim Kaine had appointed him. But it didn't stop Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from including Omeish in a conference call Thursday featuring Muslim Americans reacting to President Obama's speech to Muslims from Cairo. On Friday, MAS issued a call for Election Day volunteers. Although the solicitation does not mention Omeish, it was distributed through Omeish's Falls Church mosque, the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center. According to a May 9 story on the swine flu outbreak, Omeish was still an imam at Dar al-Hijra just weeks ago. He remains listed as a member of the mosque's board of directors. 1. As Responsible for Equality And Liberty supports universal human rights, we reject the efforts of the Islamic supremacism promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliate organizations. The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to create a “Muslim World” (caliphate/Khilafa). We believe there is ONE world, called Earth - with equal rights and liberty for all humanity - for every race, nationality, gender. The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to implement Sharia law. We seek freedom for all - regardless of religion, race, or sex - and oppose Sharia’s gender apartheid and war on women. The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to impose Islam on all; we believe humanity has freedom of conscience and religion. 2. In Washington DC, the Muslim American Society (MAS) Freedom Foundation has written the Washington Post about the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence on MAS. You can see this on their website today. According to the former president of MAS, Esam Omeish: “The influence of Muslim Brotherhood ideas has been instrumental in defining our understanding of Islam within the American and Western context in order to espouse the values of human dialogue, tolerance and moderation.” Also according to former MAS president Esam Omeish: “It also has been instrumental in defining our worldviews of justice and human rights.” This influence of the Muslim Brotherhood on the “MAS Freedom Foundation” remains unequivocally stated on the MAS website. We believe that human dialogue, tolerance, and moderation begins with rejecting all supremacist organizations, including the Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood, and that supremacist organizations never teach tolerance or moderation. We believe that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Declaration of Liberty defines our worldview of the inalienable human rights of equality and liberty for all — that supremacist groups deny. We believe without such universal equality and liberty, freed from supremacist restraints, there will never be justice, nor will all of humanity have human rights. By Joe Kaufman When people look up the word “hypocrisy” in the Islamist dictionary they will see the Muslim American Society (MAS) and its Freedom Foundation (FF) Executive Director Mahdi Bray side by side with those responsible for The American Muslim publication. This is because the groups and their leaders say they’re against terrorism and extremism, while they go about promoting these things. Could it be that they actually believe that Hamas is anything but a terrorist group or that extremists are anything but extremists? Harakat Al-Muqawama Al-Islamia (HAMAS), the Islamic Resistance Movement, began in 1987 as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood of Palestine a.k.a. the Islamic Society or Islamic Association. Since it was established, Hamas has been responsible for hundreds of Israeli deaths, many via such horrific means as suicide bombings. Amongst Hamas’s founders, the most notable was Ahmed Yassin, a wheelchair bound individual who was executed by the Israelis in March 2004. During the five year anniversary of the assassination, March 2009, Yassin’s likeness was placed on MAS’s Freedom Foundation website by Khalilah Sabra, the Director of FF’s North Carolina chapter. By Joe Kaufman There are those members of the radical Muslim community who wish to silence their opponents via legal means. The goal is to instill fear and to create an undue fiscal burden on those who speak out against them, so that the truth about their dangerous agendas will never reach the public. “It is high time the type of [rhetoric] directed specifically at the Muslim community and its leadership by right-wing extremists and so-called terrorist experts stops. I think we can start the beginning of the end by initiating litigation that will force them into financial responsibility for their scurrilous and shameless acts against the Muslim community.” These were the words of former member of Congress Walter Fauntroy, speaking for and defending Islamist activist Mahdi Bray, whose extensive criminal history had just been exposed by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), an organization headed by counter-terror authority Steven Emerson. The words are published on Bray’s personal blog. Bray is the Executive Director of the MAS Freedom Foundation, the political wing of the Muslim American Society (MAS). Dr. Omeish's full speech: "(Greetings in Arabic). In the name of Allah the gracious, the merciful, all praise is due to Allah (SWT), our Lord the gracious, the merciful and the prayers of Allah (SWT) be upon our Prophet Muhammad (SAS). My dear respected Brothers and Sisters, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allah His most high. We the Muslims of the Washington metropolitan area are here today in sub-freezing temperatures to tell our Brothers and Sisters in Filasteen that you have learned the way, that you have known that the Jihad way is the way to liberate your land. And we by standing here today, despite the weather and despite anything else, we are telling them that we are with you and we are supporting you and we will do everything that we can, Insh'Allah, to help your cause. "My dear respected Brothers and Sisters, as we enjoy the last ten days of Ramadan, as we enjoy the last portions of the month of fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan, we must realize that Allah (SWT) as he prescribed fasting upon us in the same Surah and in the same phraseology in the same use of words, Allah (SWT) said that ‘Fighting for just cause has been prescribed upon you as well.' As we experience the spirit of fasting and we experience the spirit for sacrifice for the sake of Allah (SWT), as we experience that which gives up all worldly pleasures for the sake of Allah (SWT), we realize that our Brothers and Sisters in Filasteen have elevated the level of their worship from just fasting to that of giving up everything that they have, giving up their lives, giving up their wealth, giving up their time and energies, and everything they have for the sake of the Muslim holy shrines, for the sake of the Muslim honors. They have indeed stepped up to what the Prophet (SAS) has told his companions when he was asked, ‘What is the reward of al-Mujahid?' He said, (Arabic), he said, ‘You can not do it.' And they repeated the question, ‘Oh Prophet of Allah, what is the reward of the Mujahid?' And he told them, ARABIC ‘You can not do it.' And then they asked him again, ‘Oh Prophet of Allah, what is the reward of the Mujahid?' The appointment of one of John Esposito’s protégé to Obama’s advisory council is further evident of the increasing role of Esposito in the Obama administration. The White House has announced that one of two Muslim members appointed to the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships is Dalia Mogahed, a protege of John Esposito, perhaps the best known academic supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and with strong ties to Saudi Arabia. The Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships was formerly known as the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and is part of the Executive Office of the President of the United States . Ms. Mogahed, who was born in Egypt and lived in the U.S. since the age of 5, is the executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and the co-author of a book with Dr. Esposito suggesting that majority of the world’s Muslims support some form of democracy. Dr. Esposito is also a member of the Gallup Center along with Ahmed Younis, previously a National Director for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. In 2003, Ms. Mogahed was identified in 2003 as the Outreach Coordinator for the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) whose co-founder recently lost a DOE security clearance and whose Imam will probably be deported on immigration violations.
