"Birds of Paradise" - Martyrdom Recruitment as Children's Entertainment

Child Abuse
The little girl's dark brown eyes look heavenward as she sings,
When we seek martyrdom, we go to heaven.

You tell us we're small, but from this way of life we have become big.

Without Palestine, what does childhood mean?
This is not a song from Hamas television in Gaza, nor is it a Hizballah anthem. "When We Seek Martyrdom" is the latest hit from a production house called Birds of Paradise. It is racking up millions of hits on Arabic and worldwide websites. Birds of Paradise, which appears to be based in Jordan, is quickly becoming one of the most popular children's groups in the Arab world.
My country and my blood are like its sands

Without Palestine, what does childhood mean?
Youtube, has dozens of editions and edits of the video, ranging from Arab parents having their children parrot the lyrics to Jihadists using it as background music in terrorist videos. "[Birds of Paradise] is one of the most widely distributed children's songs group in the Arab world, and it seems to have crossed the ocean to Canada and Britain," wrote journalist Fawzia Nasir al-Naeem in the Saudi Arabian newspaper, Al-Jazirah. Condemnation of Al-Jazeera Celebrations of Al-Kuntar's Release

al-Jazeera

Arab Columnist: Kuntar Is Not a Hero But a Terrorist

In an article in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Jarida, columnist Hamed Naif Al-'Anzi criticized the media description of the Hizbullah-Israel prisoners exchange deal as a "national victory" for Hizbullah. He argued that the attacks carried out by Samir Al-Kuntar and Dalal Al-Mughrabi had been terrorist acts - not acts of glory:

"One of the reasons that we, as an Arab nation, have repeatedly suffered defeat is our excitement with ourselves, which borders on arrogance, preventing us from acknowledging defeat in front of the world. We imagine that we are always victorious over our enemies, even when our defeat is as clear as day. This is the reason why we [never] win - for the acknowledging of defeat is the first step towards victory!...

"Pray tell me what is the meaning of this overflowing and unreasonable jubilation, and of all that talk of 'victory'; how come the return of Lebanese prisoners - Samir Al-Kuntar and his friends - is being extolled using all kinds of heroic terms? Read more ...

Al Jazeera Versus Old West Biker Bar

Buffalo Rose
"I was surprised to see all of the staff wearing T-shirts with this symbol.

One of the employees told me they were wearing these T-shirts all week, to make their dislike of Al Jazeera known.

Many residents of Golden do not like the idea of their city laying down the welcome mat to Al Jazeera.

The Qatar based Arab news network’s level of anti-American (and anti-Israel) propaganda is notorious. A few weeks ago Al Jazeera’s Beirut bureau threw a welcome home party for brutal child-killer Samir Kuntar.

Golden’s mayor backed out of his invitation to host a BBQ at his home for Al Jazeera. Some locals produced these shirts, which say “No Al Jazeera in Golden” on the back. The bar’s owner had more of the shirts made up (without the words on the back) as an “ironic sort of joke”; apparently the Arabic says Buffalo Rose.

Emmy Goes Dhimmi
Al Jazeera Receives First International Emmy Nominations

.

Emmy
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Al Jazeera's English-language coverage of the Myanmar crackdown and a current affairs program have earned the network its first International Emmy news nominations.

Besides Al Jazeera English, the Qatar-based satellite news channel, nominated networks include the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., TV Globo in Brazil, Pro TV News in Romania, ITV News in the United Kingdom and SBS Broadcasting in the Netherlands.

Al Jazeera and TV Globo were the only two to receive nominations in both the news and current affairs categories. TV Globo received nominations last year in both categories as well.

Al Jazeera English's "Kuala Lumpur News Hour" received the nomination for coverage of the military crackdown in Myanmar. ITV News was nominated for its coverage of Zimbabwe, and TV Globo received a nomination for coverage of a fatal TAM airliner crash. Pro TV News received a nomination for "Any Idea of What Your Kid is Doing Right Now?"

In the current affairs category, the public-affairs program "The Fifth Estate" snagged a nomination for the CBC, while "Hot Line" brought kudos for TV Globo and SBS' Peter R. de Vries received recognition for a story about Natalee Holloway. Al Jazeera's second nomination was for "Witness: Red Mosque."

For the first time, the international news categories will be unveiled with their U.S. colleagues at the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, scheduled for September 22 in New York.

Terrorist's Birthday Celebrated by Al-Jazeera

Following are excerpts from a birthday party organized by Al-Jazeera TV for released Lebanese terrorist Samir Al-Quntar. Al-Jazeera TV aired this segment on July 19, 2008

Interviewer: Brother Samir, we would like to celebrate your birthday with you. You deserve even more than this. I think that 11,000 prisoners – if they can see this program now – are celebrating your birthday with you. Happy birthday, brother Samir.

Samir Al-Quntar: Thank you.

Interviewer: Go ahead... There is a picture here... If the camera can show this... Let's cut it... Does the camera show this clearly or not? We have a picture here... This is the sword of the Arabs, Samir. Don't cut the picture, cut on the side.

Samir Al-Quntar: Here's Abu Qassam [Marwan Barghouti].

Interviewer
: Marwan is here.

Samir Al-Quntar
: Abu Qassam is here with Ahmad Sa'dat. That's our prison warden...

Interviewer: This one?

Samir Al-Quntar: Yes.

Interviewer: What is the warden's name?

Samir Al-Quntar: His name is... Never mind.

Interviewer: This is when you were released. Here you are with Wafiq Safa.

Samir Al-Quntar
: Yes, this is Wafiq Safa. This is the most beautiful picture – with Hassan Nasrallah. This is the most beautiful picture. There cannot be anything more beautiful. Me and the secretary-general – the most beautiful picture of me ever taken.

Al-Jazeera TV Dedicates a Program to Palestinian Terrorist Dalal Al-Maghrabi. Al-Maghrabi's Sister Salutes Jerusalem Bulldozer Terrorist Who Murdered

al Jazeera
TV host Ghassan bin Jiddo: Twelve men, led by a woman called Dalal Al-Maghrabi, managed to establish the State of Palestine, after the whole world had denied them their right to do so. They turned a bus, going from Haifa to Tel Aviv, into a temporary capital of the State of Palestine. They raised the white, red, and black flag at the front of the bus, singing, shouting, and dancing like children on a school trip. When the Zionist forces surrounded them – with the help of helicopters – and wanted to storm the bus, they blew up the bus with themselves inside. For the first time in the history of revolutions, a passenger bus became a fully sovereign independent republic for four hours. It does not matter how long this Palestinian republic lasted. The only thing that matters is that this republic was established, and that its first president was Dalal Al-Maghrabi. Heroism transcends the gender divide. Arab men should realize that they do not have a monopoly over the glory of either life or death. A woman can love in a much more noble way than them, and she can die in a more magnificent way then them. When Dalal Al-Maghrabi decided to realize her true maternal nature, she went to Palestine, just like Maryam daughter of Omran. There, on the land that gave rise to wheat, olives, and prophets, she reclined against a palm tree, letting ripe dates fall on her. She ate and drank, and she was content. She dreamt that the birds of Upper Galilee fly above her as she goes into labor. 500 years later, the Palestinian will still visit their mother's grave, on which orange blossoms will be scattered. In a thousand years, Arab children will read the following story: On March 11, 1978, twelve men and one woman managed to establish a Palestinian republic in a bus. Their republic lasted four hours. It does not matter how long this republic survived. The only thing that matters is that it was established. This is what the great poet Nizar Qabbani said about the great fidaai, the martyr Dalal Al-Maghrabi. We have nothing to add.

Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, Leader of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement: I Support Peaceful Relations with Israel

MEMRI
Following are excerpts from an interview with Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, leader of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on June 15, 2008:

Interviewer: Abd Al-Wahed Nur, the leader of the Sudanese Liberation Movement, has announced that his movement has an office in Israel. Do you support such a measure?

Dr. Khalil Ibrahim: This is the business of the Sudanese Liberation Movement and Abd Al-Wahed. Israel is a country just like any other country in the world. The Prophet Muhammad had good ties with the Israelis [sic]. When he died, he had a debt to a Jew. He would trade with Jews. Relations with Israel are not a crime. How many Arab countries have Israeli embassies in their capitals? The Israelis are of the People of the Book, and so are the Christians and the Muslims. Allah said: "Argue not with the People of the Book unless it is done in the best way." The Sudanese government is trying to create what is called "a taboo." A taboo forbids something that was not forbidden by Allah. Relations with any country or citizen... If Allah did not want these people, why did he create them? Israelis, Arabs, British people, Americans, and Africans – Allah created them all. When Allah created Adam, he was just one person. Now there are over seven billion descendents of Adam in the world. If Allah did not want them, he could have annihilated them. It is Allah who holds people accountable.

As for the Sudanese government, if anyone, not Abd Al-Wahed... [Sudanese President] Omar Al-Bashir used to go to Israel, didn't he? Didn't Ali Othman Taha leave his plane in Jordan, and fly by helicopter to Israel on a daily basis? These two used to go to Israel in secret, but if Abd Al-Wahed says he has a person there... Hundreds of people from Darfur have now gone to Israel – why? Because they are being crushed, killed, and displaced in their own country. More ...

Google suppresses freedom of expression to maintain power

Dhimmitube

The lengths Google will go to, to gain and retain power should be clear. But if they aren’t, let the example below serve as a barometer of Google’s audacity. From the Google-owned Youtube blog:
Senator Lieberman stated his belief, in a letter sent today, that all videos mentioning or featuring these groups [al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hizballah, etc.] should be removed from YouTube - even legal nonviolent or non-hate speech videos. While we respect and understand his views, YouTube encourages free speech and defends everyone’s right to express unpopular points of view. We believe that YouTube is a richer and more relevant platform for users precisely because it hosts a diverse range of views, and rather than stifle debate we allow our users to view all acceptable content and make up their own minds.
From the bastion of debate stiflers, al-Jazeera:
“We decided not to sue Google because it has agreed to cooperate in removing 12 video clips from the YouTube website,” a spokesman for the Thai information ministry said on Friday. “Thai police will ask for information from the company to file criminal charges against those who posted the clips.” Kent Walker pledged that the offending videos would be removed, although the process would take some time. Target of Jihad

Sultan
By Robert Spencer

Wafa Sultan appeared on Al-Jazeera again earlier this month, and the shock waves are still reverberating throughout the Islamic world. The day after her appearance Al-Jazeera issued a public apology for her "offensive" remarks, but did not specify what exactly she said that was so terrible. Last week, however, the influential Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi was not so circumspect. Qaradawi, whom Saudi-funded academic John Esposito has praised as a "reformist," in 2006 exhorted Muslims to fight against Israel by invoking the notorious genocidal hadith in which Muhammad says that on the Day of Judgment "even the stones and the trees will speak, with or without words, and say: 'Oh servant of Allah, oh Muslim, there's a Jew behind me, come and kill him.'" But now he has directed his rage against Sultan, a fifty-year-old Syrian-American psychologist: "She said unbearable, ghastly things that made my hair stand on end." Specifically, "she had the audacity to publicly curse Allah, His Prophet, the Koran, the history of Islam, and the Islamic nation." He repeated that she "leveled accusations against Islam and the Muslims, and cursed Allah, His Prophet, the Islamic nation, the shari'a, and the Islamic faith and culture." Read more ...

Burn Down Danish Embassies and Kidnap Danish Ambassadors to Slaughter Them at Muhammad's Tomb

Abu 'Abir: "We will not allow them to deride our Prophet, and we will wait for no one to take the appropriate measures in response to this crime against Islam, the Muslims, and our Prophet. We will redeem our Prophet with our lives. Oh servants of the cross, we have let everything you did to our nation pass. But for your abominable deed against our Prophet, oh hostile and infidel Denmark, you will pay a heavy price, Allah willing. Oh Messenger of Allah, accept our apology. Denmark has spoken heresy." Al-Jazeera anchor slates Arab and Western media

Rome, 4 Feb. (AKI) - Anchorman for the Arabic TV network Al-Jazeera, Faysal Qassem, has harshly criticised the "sheep-like" Arab press, a charge he also extends to Western media since al-Qaeda's '9/11' attacks on US cities.

"Arab people behave like sheep and the Arab press imitates parrots," Qassem told Adnkronos International (AKI).

"In the Arab world, the media is constrained and it parrots what the government wants," said Qassem.

"My mission is to free Arabs from dictatorships and from the legacy of our awful traditions." Read more ...
