Library Named After Palestinian Homicide Bomber Wafa Idris Inaugurated at a Yemen Children's Hospital

Kuntar
According to the Yemeni news website www.yemenportal.net, a library and conference hall named after Palestinian suicide bomber Wafa Idris have been inaugurated at a children's hospital in the province of Ibb in southern Yemen. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Yemeni officials, and launched by Samir Al-Kuntar, of the Palestinian Liberation Front, who carried out a deadly attack in Nahariyya in 1974, and was recently released from Israeli prison.

At the ceremony, speakers extolled the resistance and the perpetrators of suicide bombings, and little girls read out texts and poems.

Following are excerpts from the report:

Samir Al-Kuntar: "The Enemy Is Weaker than Cobwebs"

"Freed prisoner Samir Al-Kuntar launched [the inauguration ceremony] of the hall and library named after Palestinian martyr Wafa Idris at the Mother and Child Hospital in Ibb. [The ceremony was] attended by the province's governor, Judge Ahmad Al-Hajri; by Dr. Balqis Abu Isba' of the Kan'an Association for Palestine, which sponsored the event; and by other politicians, prominent figures, and representatives of the health sector. They [all] stood up in honor of the heroine Wafa Idris, a volunteer nurse in the Palestinian Red Crescent, who blew herself up in an act of martyrdom in January 2002, killing one Israeli and wounding some 100 [others]." GihadTV Makes Deal with Sony

Al Jazeera

Coming to Sony Ericsson mobile phones: JihadTV.

Kuntar
"The Al Jazeera Network has announced a partnership with Sony Ericsson, where RSS feeds of its news content will be pre-installed on four models of its mobile devices in both the Middle East and North Africa."

This means that owners of these phones will soon be able to enjoy quality Al Jazeera programs like this: a birthday party for a child killer, Samir Kuntar, who forced a little girl to watch as he shot her father, then bashed her brains out with a rifle butt.

Sony Ericsson should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this evil hatred.

LA Times Writer Praises JihadTV

MEMRI
Los Angeles Times writer Ashraf Khalil complains that the Arab satellite channel Al Jazeera isn’t available in the US, and as evidence of their excellent reporting he shows a video clip by an Al Jazeera reporter trolling hospital beds in Gaza: In praise of Al Jazeera.

The report Khalil praises is blatant propaganda, with the sole purpose of inflaming emotions against Israel.

And of course, this is the cleaned-up, sanitized Al Jazeera for Western consumption. If you watch them in Arabic you get the real stuff.

For example, this incredibly vile birthday party for released terrorist Samir Kuntar—who shot a child’s father in front of her, then bashed the little girl’s brains out with a rifle butt.

This sickening, utterly depraved show alone should prevent Al Jazeera from ever being picked up by US cable providers, but people like Ashraf Khalil are doing their best to trick the American public into looking elsewhere.

Israel releases terrorist ... terrorist threatens U.S.
'American embassy and citizens are not secure'

Israel
JERUSALEM – A convicted child-killing terrorist recently freed by Israel in a controversial prisoner exchange deal yesterday issued a threat against the U.S.

"If there will be an Israeli attack against Lebanon in the future, American citizens and the American embassy in Lebanon will not be secure," said Samir Kuntar, who led a protest yesterday outside the U.S. embassy in Beirut.

Kuntar was release in July along with four other Lebanese convicts in a deal with the Hezbollah terror group that saw the remains of two Israeli soldiers returned to Israel. He was serving multiple life sentences in an Israeli prison for murdering three Israelis, including smashing to death a 4-year-old girl with the butt of his rifle. Read more ...

Condemnation of Al-Jazeera Celebrations of Al-Kuntar's Release

al-Jazeera

Arab Columnist: Kuntar Is Not a Hero But a Terrorist

In an article in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Jarida, columnist Hamed Naif Al-'Anzi criticized the media description of the Hizbullah-Israel prisoners exchange deal as a "national victory" for Hizbullah. He argued that the attacks carried out by Samir Al-Kuntar and Dalal Al-Mughrabi had been terrorist acts - not acts of glory:

"One of the reasons that we, as an Arab nation, have repeatedly suffered defeat is our excitement with ourselves, which borders on arrogance, preventing us from acknowledging defeat in front of the world. We imagine that we are always victorious over our enemies, even when our defeat is as clear as day. This is the reason why we [never] win - for the acknowledging of defeat is the first step towards victory!...

"Pray tell me what is the meaning of this overflowing and unreasonable jubilation, and of all that talk of 'victory'; how come the return of Lebanese prisoners - Samir Al-Kuntar and his friends - is being extolled using all kinds of heroic terms? Read more ...

Emboldening Terrorists: 'Moderates' Kowtow to Hezbollah

Kuntar
By Joel Himelfarb

Make no mistake about it: the recent prisoner exchange between Israel and Hezbollah is a victory for Iran and its allies. The crux of the deal is this: Hezbollah gained the release of five imprisoned Lebanese terrorists in exchange for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah in a July 12, 2006, cross-border raid that triggered the 2006 war with the Jewish State. The most immediate impact will be to embolden another Iranian-backed terror group: Hamas, which says it will drive a harder bargain for the return of Israel Defense Force Corporal Gilad Shalit, kidnapped by Hamas in a June 25, 2006, cross-border raid into southern Israel. As a Hamas source told the Israeli Ynet.com news service: "The deal proves that patience and fortitude will lead to us seeing celebrations here [in Gaza] similar to those in Lebanon."

The prisoner exchange occurred two weeks before Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's announcement that he will not be a candidate for re-election, and it is another reminder of his regrettable geopolitical legacy: Olmert's failure to defeat Hezbollah in the Lebanon war two years ago has helped create an emboldened, more dangerous terrorist group. Defense Minister and Labor Party leader Ehud Barak told Vice President Cheney last Monday that the number of missiles in Hezbollah's possession has doubled or tripled since the war two years ago, and their range has been extended significantly. Barak acknowledged the obvious: that UN Security Council Resolution 1701 - the ceasefire resolution which followed the 2006 fighting - did not work. The unavoidable conclusion: Under Olmert's leadership, Israel failed in Lebanon, and last month's prisoner exchange was just the latest chapter of failure there. The highlight of the Israel-Hezbollah exchange was the release of Lebanese Samir Kuntar - who carried out one of the most barbaric terrorist attacks in the history of the Arab-israeli conflict. Kuntar was part of a terror squad which infiltrated the northern Israeli town of Nahariya on April 22, 1979. The terrorists shot and killed a policeman, then broke into an apartment and dragged Danny Haran, a young father, and his 4-year-old daughter onto the beach. Kuntar shot Haran to death in front of the child before smashing her skull with his rifle, killing her as well. The child's mother, who had been hiding in closet during the terrorists' rampage, accidentally smothered her infant to death in an attempt to keep him quiet. Read more ...

'Peace partner' praises child-killing terrorist
Calls convicted murderer 'beautiful,' 'a pure and clean hero'

By Aaron Klein

JERUSALEM - A leading member of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization oversaw a delegation yesterday to visit recently freed Palestinian terrorist child-killer Samir Kuntar, calling the convicted murderer "beautiful," and a "pure and clean" hero.

Palestinian Liberation Organization ambassador to Lebanon Abbas Zaki, a senior member of the Fatah Central Committee, yesterday led the delegation – which included other PLO and Fatah members – to visit Kuntar in Lebanon's Druze Mount village of Abayeh. Read more ...

Terrorist's Birthday Celebrated by Al-Jazeera

Following are excerpts from a birthday party organized by Al-Jazeera TV for released Lebanese terrorist Samir Al-Quntar. Al-Jazeera TV aired this segment on July 19, 2008

Interviewer: Brother Samir, we would like to celebrate your birthday with you. You deserve even more than this. I think that 11,000 prisoners – if they can see this program now – are celebrating your birthday with you. Happy birthday, brother Samir.

Samir Al-Quntar: Thank you.

Interviewer: Go ahead... There is a picture here... If the camera can show this... Let's cut it... Does the camera show this clearly or not? We have a picture here... This is the sword of the Arabs, Samir. Don't cut the picture, cut on the side.

Samir Al-Quntar: Here's Abu Qassam [Marwan Barghouti].

Interviewer
: Marwan is here.

Samir Al-Quntar
: Abu Qassam is here with Ahmad Sa'dat. That's our prison warden...

Interviewer: This one?

Samir Al-Quntar: Yes.

Interviewer: What is the warden's name?

Samir Al-Quntar: His name is... Never mind.

Interviewer: This is when you were released. Here you are with Wafiq Safa.

Samir Al-Quntar
: Yes, this is Wafiq Safa. This is the most beautiful picture – with Hassan Nasrallah. This is the most beautiful picture. There cannot be anything more beautiful. Me and the secretary-general – the most beautiful picture of me ever taken.

Samir Kuntar Is a Convicted Killer - Not a Hero

Elias Bejjani
By Elias Bejjani

It is really sad, shocking and shameful when a convicted murderer is decorated as a hero. Shame on Lebanon's leaders, parties, dignitaries, politicians and officials for welcoming Samir Kuntar as a hero – in the process boldly and evilly distancing themselves from the hopes, aspirations, education, and culture of their own people. By doing so they have alienated themselves from the majority of the Lebanese people and negated the deeply Lebanese rooted standards and criteria for what is wrong and what is right, and for what is good and what is evil.

They are stupidly blemishing the actual peaceful image of Lebanon and the historic role of the Lebanese people as lovers and advocates for peace, democracy, coexistence and multicultural principles. In the eyes of the majority of the Lebanese people, Samir Kuntar is a convicted murderer and not a hero.

Samir Kuntar and the Last Laugh

Dry Bones
By Daniel Pipes

Israel has lived the past sixty years more intensively than any other country.

Its highs – the resurrection of a two-thousand year old state in 1948, history's most lopsided military victory in 1967, and the astonishing Entebbe hostage rescue in 1976 – have been triumphs of will and spirit that inspire the civilized world. Its lows have been self-imposed humiliations: unilateral retreat from Lebanon and evacuation of Joseph's Tomb, both in 2000; retreat from Gaza in 2005; defeat by Hizbullah in 2006; and the corpses-for-prisoners exchange with Hizbullah last week.

An outsider can only wonder at the contrast. How can the authors of exhilarating victories repeatedly bring such disgrace upon themselves, seemingly oblivious to the import of their actions?

One clue has to do with the dates. The highs took place during the state's first three decades, the lows occurred since 2000. Something profound has changed. The strategically brilliant but economically deficient early state has been replaced by the reverse. Yesteryear's spy masterminds, military geniuses, and political heavyweights have seemingly gone into high tech, leaving the state in the hands of corrupt, short-sighted mental midgets.

How else can one account for the cabinet meeting on June 29, when 22 out of 25 ministers voted in favor of releasing five live Arab terrorists, including Samir al-Kuntar, 45, a psychopath and the most notorious prisoner in Israel's jails, plus 200 corpses? In return, Israel got the bodies of two Israel soldiers murdered by Hizbullah. Even The Washington Post wondered at this decision. Read more ...

Deals with devils

Remains
By Steven Emerson

Israel has undertaken an incredibly wrongheaded prisoner exchange with the terrorist group Hezbollah. It's just the latest move in a troubling trend of unequal deals between the Jewish state and its declared enemies.

The swap, approved overwhelmingly by the Israeli cabinet, has the Israelis handing over five Lebanese prisoners, including the notorious terrorist Samir Kuntar, plus the bodies of 199 Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorists. In exchange, it received the bodies of two soldiers captured by Hezbollah in the summer of 2006 plus an 80-page Hezbollah report on captured Israeli airman Ron Arad.

But at least Israel is received something in return. Consider another deal with terrorists - Israel's "truce" with the Hamas rulers of Gaza. Since the "truce" took effect on June 19, Israel has been hit by least 20 rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza. Read more ...

Israel Caves Again

Dhimmis
By P. David Hornik

On Sunday the Israeli cabinet voted 22-3 in favor of a “prisoner” swap with Hezbollah. Israel, on its side of the bargain, won’t be receiving any prisoners but instead the corpses of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, the two soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah in 2006, along with partial, inadequate information on Ron Arad, the airman shot down over Lebanon in 1986.

Hezbollah, for its part, gets five live terrorists including child-killer Samir Kuntar, dozens of corpses of terrorists, information on four Iranian diplomats who were detained by Christian Phalange forces in Lebanon in 1982, and live Palestinian terrorists whose number and identity are supposed to be determined by Israel.

The lopsided vote in favor was especially notable given the opposition of Israel’s defense establishment, which stressed the obvious facts that: such deals strengthen terror organizations; such deals both encourage further kidnappings and encourage these organizations to up their demands for hostages already held; and trading live terrorists for dead Israelis further endangers other kidnapped Israelis by telling terrorists they can extort high prices even for their corpses.

The cabinet was also told by Mossad chief Meir Dagan and Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin—staunch opponents of the deal—that Kuntar’s inclusion means losing any further chance for genuine progress on the case of Ron Arad, since Kuntar was Israel’s last remaining bargaining chip for Arad. Read more ...
