The lovely-looking restaurant and bar The Breslin begins lunch service tomorrow, and co-owner Ken Friedman (The Spotted Pig) is planning on serving alcohol despite objections from the Masjid Ar-Rahman mosque across the street. Earlier this month the mosque’s leaders called a meeting with Friedman at The Ace Hotel, where The Breslin is located, and asked, "Can you move the bar?" Friedman's response makes us want to hurry over to The Breslin right now for a dram of Laphroaig to show our support (and drown out the voices.) ... Friedman notified police of the threat, but just to show he's not a hard-hearted man, that it's not all dollars and cents, he agreed to put a curtain over the windows so devout Muslims wouldn't be corrupted by the sight of infidel inebriation. Twitter: Norooz: Bodies of hundreds of martyrs from protests in the past month are kept in a morgue in south-west of Tehran. While our dear leader preaches to us about our moral authority and fundamental values and hope and change, injecting us with his daily dose of morphine, the bodies in Iran pile up. Rantburg has this here: The on-line Farsi-language newspaper, Nooroz, reports that hundreds of unidentified dead bodies are being held in Tehran's morgues. One of the few official organs providing information on the detainees is the office of unidentified dead persons, which has summoned some families to various morgues around the city to determine whether their loved ones are among the dead. Nooroz newspaper reports that those families, who find their sons or daughters among the countless corpses, are threatened and pressured into signing statements attesting that their family members died in car crashes or as a result of other ordinary, run of the mill accidents. Unless the families sign these statements, the cherished bodies of their loved ones are withheld from them.
One person who reportedly visited the morgue in south-west Tehran [which in the past had been used only for the storage of fruits and dairy products]reports to Nooroz that she was presented with an album containing hundreds of pictures of the dead and was told to try and find her child among these images. This woman reports that, as she was leaving the morgue, she saw hundreds of dead bodies piled on top of one another.
Yesterday we also received news from one of our readers that the mother of Sohrab Arabi, the ninteen year old student whose mysterious death in connection with the Tehran protests recently made international headlines, was also asked to identify her son from amongst some sixty pictures of nameless corpses.

By Robert Spencer An urgent message from Iranian freedom activist Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi: ACT NOW! Please call up your foreign office and demand from them to have their embassy in Tehran open their gates for injured people! People are arrested in the hospitals and therefore cannot go there for treatment. A number of embassies have already opened their gates, including Australia and Great Britain. I am quite tied up today trying to finish my upcoming book; for extensive and up-to-the-minute coverage of what is going on in Iran, see here and here at Atlas Shrugs. Source: JihadWatch
"Peace will come when the Arabs start to love their children more than they hate us."Attributed to Golda Meir, Prime Minister of Israel If you do an Internet search for Aqsa Parvez or Amina & Sarah Said, you will notice Atlas Shrugs, Jihad Watch, Michelle Malkin, and other non-Muslim blogs among top results. Muslim reaction is scarce. Hoverer, when you find it, the articles seem to be focused not on honorcide itself, but on distancing honorcide from Islam. These articles are permeated with claims that honorcide is un-Islamic, that it has nothing to do with either Islamic culture or religion. The fact that most honorcides in the West occur in Muslim families (while Muslims represent a small minority of general population) is dismissed as simple domestic violence and not an honor-related crime. After Aqsa Parvez was murdered, her disgraceful family placed a numbered marker on her grave: Later, the family refused a headstone (that was offered to them for free); they seem to want to punish Aqsa even after her death. Aqsa's crime? Refusal to wear hijab. How many Muslim (so-called civil rights) organizations took up Aqsa's cause? None. When Pamela Geller started the Aqsa Parvez Memorial Fund, more than a hundred people donated money. Only two of them appear to be Muslims. Golda Meir supposedly claimed that we hate infidels more than we love our own children. Muslim reactions to recent honorcides show even more disturbing trend: the infidels love our children more than we do. I just cannot wrap my head around it. Are we really that scared that image of Islam could be tarnished by these horrible crimes? Is protecting the image worth sweeping the problem under the rug and continue having our children and wives murdered in the name of family honor? Was not only Golda Meir right, but did she actually understate the issue? L.A.
By Joe Warmington "How could they let her rot in an unmarked grave?"
-- U.S. blogger Pamela Geller Aqsa Parvez has been gone 14 months and still, according to the frozen ground in Lot 17 of Brampton's Meadowvale Cemetery, she's nothing more than No. 774. If not for two flowers placed there recently, you would not even know this is a grave. "We had no idea we would not be able to build a memorial to this girl," said a disappointed Pamela Geller from New York City. Geller proudly boasts being the 34th best-known blogger on the web -- her Atlas Shrugs site of stories that may have escaped coverage in the play-it-safe, middle-of-the-road mainstream media. 'Give them the Islamic message,' demands New York-based extremist
JERUSALEM – A U.S. jihadi website has issued a series of videos targeting the New York headquarters of Chabad, a Jewish outreach movement, just two months after the group was rocked by a deadly terrorist attack in Mumbai, India.
The videos also ask viewers to "give the Islamic message" to Yeshiva University, a Manhattan-based Jewish college, as well as "Jewish Federation buildings all over the U.S." in response to the institutions' purported funding for Israel amid its recent offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The Islamic threats already resulted in a New York Police Department investigation and a beefed-up police presence outside the Chabad headquarters, WND has learned.
"When an atrocity is done like what was done in Gaza, indiscriminately killing women and children, we know who the source is," stated Yousef Al-Khattab, the CEO of RevolutionMuslim.com in a video address posted on the website.
"These are definitely the sources," Khattab stated, citing Chabad and the other Jewish institutions.
"We think it's imperative to hold these people responsible, speak in front of their homes, give them the Islamic message. Leave them the message of Islam. That's not a threat, that's what it is," Khattab said in the video.
While Khattab, who spoke to WND today, claimed his website is not issuing threats against Jewish groups, a second video posted on the site contains what can easily be interpreted as lightly veiled threats of violence against Chabad.
The video features a slideshow of images of wounded Palestinians and then repeatedly switches to pictures of Chabad's main headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It then presents a picture of a blood-stained Jewish prayer book taken from inside a Jerusalem seminary following a deadly shooting massacre there last March that killed eight Jews.
The video ends with the sound of gunshots.
Asked whether the video montage was implying Chabad's headquarters should be targeted by Islamic violence, Khattab told WND, "It is what it is."
Khattab said he did not have the authority to issue a directive to carry out specific attacks.
Further petitioned to explain the intended meaning of the blood-soaked prayer book interspersed with images of Chabad's headquarters, Khattab replied, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
He told WND he supports Hamas' suicide bombings against Israelis, including attacks targeting cafes, restaurants and nightclubs.
"There is no such thing as Israeli civilian," he said. "I pray to Allah for the complete destruction of Israel."
In a video on his website, Khattab states he normally advises others to "just ignore [the Jews]. That's not racist. We don't like to deal with them ... but when there is a terrorist war of destruction, killing of kids ... [Israeli] genocide, then we have to take to the forefront."
Security bolstered at Chabad headquarters
Motti Seligson, a spokesman for Chabad, told WND although not all threats are serious, his organization is "work[ing] closely with law enforcement to ensure that all threats are handled properly, as safety is of paramount concern."
Immediately following RevolutionMuslim's first posting about Chabad two weeks ago, the NYPD stationed a large police presence, including NYPD vans, outside the Jewish group's headquarters.
NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelley called Chanina Sperlin, vice president of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, to assure him the police were looking into the situation and were taking any threats seriously.
Khattab said he was questioned by NYPD investigators.
Expert: Take threats seriously
One Chabad official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he was not particularly concerned about the alleged threats.
But U.S. terrorism expert Steve Emerson said videos like those posted on RevolutionMuslim.com should be taken seriously.
"Any site that advocates violence or provides incitement to violence has to be taken seriously," he told WND.
'We appreciate support of American progressives'
Realizing his statement may attract the attention of U.S. law enforcement agencies, Khattab delivered a direct message to the NYPD, CIA and FBI: "You can put me in jail for the rest of my life. As long as I got that information out there for people, I did something. I didn't sit on my behind."
Khattab also lashed out against any website that may pick up on his statement.
"It just attracts Drudge, the JAWA report, Atlas Shrugs (blog), and Robert Spencer (Jihad Watch blog) and just other whining little queers and stuff like that."
But he celebrated what he said is his website's non-Muslim following of "progressive Americans, socialists, anarchists, communists ... people who can really contribute, they give us dialogue and send us nice e-mails."
Khattab, a 39-year-old New York taxi driver who converted to Islam from Judaism, said he launched RevolutionMuslim.com with the mission of "preserving Islamic culture," "calling people to the oneness of God" and asking them to "support the beloved Sheik Abdullah Faisal, who's preaching the religion of Islam and serving as a spiritual guide.
He told WND his site's main goal is to establish worldwide Islamic dominance. He runs the site from his home in Queens, N.Y., and even advertises his personal phone number.
Faisal, the website's spiritual adviser, was convicted in the UK in 2003 for urging his followers to kill Jews, Hindus and Westerners. In videotaped recordings, Faisal was taped delivering sermons calling on Muslims to use chemical weapons to "exterminate unbelievers" and "cut the throat of the Kaffars (nonbelievers) with (a) machete."
FoxNews.com previously reported Faisal's sermons may have influenced "shoe bomber" Richard Reid, who attended mosques where Faisal preached.
Khattab's website is no stranger to controversy. In the past it featured a video praising al-Qaida's beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl under the banner "Daniel Pearl I am Happy Your Dead :)," and a puppet show making light of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq. Source: WorldNetDaily
No justice for these poor girlsBy Robert Spencer A few days ago, as we discussed here, the FBI designated the murders of Amina and Sarah Said by their father Yaser Said an honor killing. The wanted poster for Yaser Said said this: Yaser Abdel Said is wanted for murder. On January 1, 2008, Said took his two teenaged daughters for a ride in his taxi cab, under the guise of taking them to get something to eat. He drove them to a secluded park in Irving, Texas, where he allegedly shot both girls to death. They died of multiple gunshot wounds. The 17- and 18-year-old girls were dating American boys, which was contrary to their father's rules of not dating non-Muslim boys. Reportedly, the girls were murdered due to an "Honor Killing." Said may have fled to New York or Egypt. But the intrepid Pamela has noticed that the wanted poster has been revised, and now says this: Yaser Abdel Said is wanted for murder. On January 1, 2008, Said took his two teenaged daughters for a ride in his taxi cab, under the guise of taking them to get something to eat. He drove them to Irving, Texas, where he allegedly shot both girls to death. They died of multiple gunshot wounds. Said may have fled to New York or Egypt. A LITTLE-KNOWN group calling itself the Imad Mughnieh unit of the Brigades of the Liberators of the Galilee claimed responsibility for a deadly attack in Jerusalem today in a phone call to AFP. The same group claimed an attack in March on a Jewish seminary in Jerusalem that killed eight people, which they said was revenge for the killing of senior Lebanese Hezbollah commander Imad Mughnieh in Damascus. The militia blamed Mughnieh's death on Israel and has vowed revenge. Israel welcomed Mughnieh's death but denied any responsibility. In today's attack a Palestinian man from east Jerusalem ploughed an earthmover into a bus and cars in central Jerusalem, killing three people and wounding dozens of others before he was shot dead by Israeli police. Source: Herald SunUpdate: BBC mourns the murderer More photos at AtlasMuslims Against Sharia unequivocally condemn murderous attack in Jerusalem.
We call for swift extermination of all terrorist groups that claimed responsibility for this attack.
We implore Israeli government not to provide financial help for the family of the murderer. Any such help will be an open invitation for future attacks.
Terrorism has many faces. The bombing of the SS Cole, The World Trade Center, and the murder of Leon Klinghoffer in the Mediterranean. This is terror we can see, smell, and fear. But there is a new kind of terror that is invading the West, and it is clean, invisible to the smell, and seems savory in the way it is being marketed. This new terror is Shariah Finance. This is a way of banking that is growing rapidly in the Gulf, Britain, France, and the United States,Hong Kong, and worldwide due to the bulging pockets of burgeoning wealth from the profits of petrodollars. Every time we fill our gas tanks, we are not only contributing to the pollution of our air, we are funding terror in an insidious way that will effect us long after we go "green". By Pamela Geller Not surprising. The lone jihadi, something I think we'll be seeing a good deal more of. In legitimizing Islamic jihad, society has sanctioned it.
