Obama and the Chicago Shariah Scammer

These photos of Barack Obama, with his friend and benefactor Salman Ibrahim, were taken in 2004 in the offices of the infamous Sunrise Equities, Chicago. (Click photos to enlarge them)

Ibrahim is the former CEO of Sunrise and is now wanted by the FBI in connection with the Sunrise Equities scam of late 2008 in Chicago. Sunrise Equities, a "shariah complaint" investment firm, shut down in August, 2008 when CEO Salman Ibrahim and other Sunrise officers vanished with approximately $80 million of investor money. In 2004, while Obama was running for US Senate in Illinois, Ibrahim and Sunrise Equities donated some of the own office space to Obama's campaign. Obama used the space as a fundraising hub.

In the top photo, Obama shakes hands with Chicago Alderman Bernard Stone (50th Ward), just prior to a ribbon cutting ceremony for donated office space. In the bottom photo we see the ribbon cutting. The money seems to have gone with them. The Illinois Secretary of State and the FBI are investigating the scandal. More than 100 investors, mostly Muslim, learned in August that they had lost all of their savings to the Sunrise Equities fraud. Many were completely wiped out financially. Sunrise Equities targeted investors who were mostly Pakistani Muslim immigrants. Many the victims had to take out home equity loans to make ends meet.

Said has ties to New York, Texas, and Egypt. He also has Egyptian and United States' passports. Additionally, Said is known to carry a handgun in his taxi cab at all times. It has also been reported that Said always carries a weapon with him, to include knives. CAUTION Yaser Abdel Said is wanted for murder. On January 1, 2008, Said took his two teenaged daughters for a ride in his taxi cab, under the guise of taking them to get something to eat. He drove them to a secluded park in Irving, Texas, where he allegedly shot both girls to death. They died of multiple gunshot wounds. The 17- and 18-year-old girls were dating American boys, which was contrary to their father's rules of not dating non-Muslim boys. Reportedly, the girls were murdered due to an "Honor Killing." Said may have fled to New York or Egypt. On January 2, 2008, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Yaser Abdel Said, in Dallas County, Dallas, Texas, on charges of Capital Murder-Multiple. FBI seeks to catch local cabbie accused of killing teenage daughters

Nine months ago, Yaser Abdel Said disappeared after his two teen-age daughters, Amina and Sarah, were shot and killed on New Year's Day in Irving in what some believe to have been an "honor killing.'' Relatives of the two slain teens have also tried to keep the search for Mr. Said in the public arena. Now, the FBI has put Mr. Said on its web site as one of the agency's "featured fugitives.'' Authorities believe that Mr. Said may have fled to either New York or Egypt.

Indicted Saudi Gets $80 Million US ContractThe Financier Has Been Indicted For His Alleged Role in a Scandal Costing US Taxpayers $1.7 billion

The US military has awarded an $80 million contract to a prominent Saudi financier who has been indicted by the US Justice Department. The contract to supply jet fuel to American bases in Afghanistan was awarded to the Attock Refinery Ltd, a Pakistani-based refinery owned by Gaith Pharaon. Pharaon is wanted in connection with his alleged role at the failed Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), and the CenTrust savings and loan scandal, which cost US tax payers $1.7 billion.

The Saudi businessman was also named in a 2002 French parliamentary report as having links to informal money transfer networks called hawala, known to be used by traders and terrorists, including Al Qaeda.

Interestingly, Pharaon was also an investor in President George W. Bush's first business venture, Arbusto Energy.

"Ghaith Pharaon is an FBI fugitive indicted in both the BCCI and CENTRUST case," said Richard Kolko, a spokesman for the FBI. "If anyone has information on his location, they are requested to contact the FBI or the US Embassy." Read more ...
