The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps now controls the navy’s war-time operations. This follows the IRGC’s takeover of most of the duties of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security.
The IRGC is essentially taking over every part of the Iranian government, which increases the regime’s overall extremism but also shows how insecure the regime feels about the competency and loyalty of its military and security forces.
