Islam is a Religion of Peace -- or else. "Somali Faces Terror Charge for Cartoonist Attack," from AP, January 11 COPENHAGEN (AP) -- Prosecutors filed a preliminary charge of terrorism Monday against a Somali man accused of trying to kill a Danish cartoonist who caricatured the Prophet Muhammad. The man had faced a preliminary charge of attempted murder for breaking into Kurt Westergaard's home in Aarhus, in western Denmark, Jan. 1 armed with a knife and an ax. Prosecutor Marian Thomsen said investigators changed the preliminary charge to terrorism, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, after questioning the suspect over the weekend for the first time since his arrest. Westergaard, 74, locked himself in a safe room and was not injured. The suspect was shot by police in the hand and knee, but was not seriously injured and is being held in jail pending the outcome of the investigation.... The suspect claims he only wanted to scare Westergaard and has denied all the allegations except the weapons charge, according to his lawyer, Niels Christian Strauss. He only wanted to "scare" Westergaard by hacking through one door with an axe and working on another before he was stopped by police? He needs to work on his taqiyya technique. Thanks to JihadWatch
Here is an illuminating piece that you would do well to keep around for future reference: "How Taqiyya Alters Islam's Rules of War: Defeating Jihadist Terrorism," by our old Jihad Watch friend, the great scholar Raymond Ibrahim in the Middle East Quarterly, Winter 2010: Islam must seem a paradoxical religion to non-Muslims. On the one hand, it is constantly being portrayed as the religion of peace; on the other, its adherents are responsible for the majority of terror attacks around the world.
Apologists for Islam emphasize that it is a faith built upon high ethical standards; others stress that it is a religion of the law. Islam's dual notions of truth and falsehood further reveal its paradoxical nature: While the Qur'an is against believers deceiving other believers--for "surely God guides not him who is prodigal and a liar"[1]--deception directed at non-Muslims, generally known in Arabic as taqiyya, also has Qur'anic support and falls within the legal category of things that are permissible for Muslims. Muslim deception can be viewed as a slightly less than noble means to the glorious end of Islamic hegemony under Shari'a, which is seen as good for both Muslims and non-Muslims. In this sense, lying in the service of altruism is permissible. In a recent example, Muslim cleric Mahmoud al-Masri publicly recounted a story where a Muslim lied and misled a Jew into converting to Islam, calling it a "beautiful trick." Taqiyya offers two basic uses. The better known revolves around dissembling over one's religious identity when in fear of persecution. Such has been the historical usage of taqiyya among Shi'i communities whenever and wherever their Sunni rivals have outnumbered and thus threatened them.
Conversely, Sunni Muslims, far from suffering persecution have, whenever capability allowed, waged jihad against the realm of unbelief; and it is here that they have deployed taqiyya--not as dissimulation but as active deceit. In fact, deceit, which is doctrinally grounded in Islam, is often depicted as being equal--sometimes superior--to other universal military virtues, such as courage, fortitude, or self-sacrifice. Yet if Muslims are exhorted to be truthful, how can deceit not only be prevalent but have divine sanction? What exactly is taqiyya? How is it justified by scholars and those who make use of it? How does it fit into a broader conception of Islam's code of ethics, especially in relation to the non-Muslim? More to the point, what ramifications does the doctrine of taqiyya have for all interaction between Muslims and non-Muslims? The Doctrine of Taqiyya According to Shari'a--the body of legal rulings that defines how a Muslim should behave in all circumstances--deception is not only permitted in certain situations but may be deemed obligatory in others. Contrary to early Christian tradition, for instance, Muslims who were forced to choose between recanting Islam or suffering persecution were permitted to lie and feign apostasy. Other jurists have decreed that Muslims are obligated to lie in order to preserve themselves,[2] based on Qur'anic verses forbidding Muslims from being instrumental in their own deaths.[3] This is the classic definition of the doctrine of taqiyya. Based on an Arabic word denoting fear, taqiyya has long been understood, especially by Western academics, as something to resort to in times of religious persecution and, for the most part, used in this sense by minority Shi'i groups living among hostile Sunni majorities.[4] Taqiyya allowed the Shi'a to dissemble their religious affiliation in front of the Sunnis on a regular basis, not merely by keeping clandestine about their own beliefs but by actively praying and behaving as if they were Sunnis. How many U.S.-born terror combatants have been able to perform perfect taqiyya for 10 or 20 years until today? Does our government even know what this dangerous doctrine is all about?By Dr. Walid Phares With shock and malaise, Americans are discovering that their country is penetrated by Jihadi terrorists, particularly those we call "homegrown." Over the past few months, several alarming cases have been revealed by law enforcement. Not only the frequency of these revelations but also the type of Jihadi cells are teaching the public that something very troubling is happening within the homeland: the surge of a threat deserving a greater attention than the current attitude dispensed by the administration. The arrest of Daniel Patrick Boyd, a married 39-year-old, his two sons, and four other “Jihadis” in a rural area south of Raleigh, N.C., is not a little matter in our global analysis of the movement within the United States. “Saifullah,” the Jihadi name of Boyd; his two sons, Zakariya, 20, and Dylan, 22; Mohammed Omar Aly Hassan, 22; and Ziad Yaghi, 21, are all U.S. citizens. By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook When Western countries met last month to pledge billions of dollars in funding to the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority, they stressed that Hamas would not receive funding until it recognized Israel. However, a senior Fatah leader, Muhammad Dahlan, admitted yesterday on Palestinian Authority television that Fatah - just like Hamas - still does not recognize Israel. Furthermore, he said that the Palestinian Authority's apparent "recognition" is to make the PA "acceptable" to the international community, and therefore allow it to continue to receive international aid: I want to say for the thousandth time, in my own name and in the name of all of my fellow members of the Fatah movement: We do not demand that the Hamas movement recognize Israel. On the contrary, we demand of the Hamas movement not to recognize Israel, because the Fatah movement does not recognize Israel even today. It is only the Palestinian Authority government, Dahlan insisted, that must "recognize" Israel - not out of conviction or sincerity, but in order to receive the needed help of the international community. This help would not come, says Dahlan, if the PA government did not "recognize" Israel. The inherent contradiction between the Fatah, headed by "Chairman" Mahmoud Abbas, not recognizing Israel, and the Palestinian Authority, headed by "President" Mahmoud Abbas, "recognizing" Israel, was not challenged by the interviewer. This is not merely Dahlan's opinion but apparently official PA ideology. It is nearly identical to the 2006 declaration made by Mahmoud Abbas himself that while PA ministers have to "recognize" Israeli ministers across a negotiating table, for functional purposes, this does not imply political recognition by Fatah of Israel: Hamas is not required to recognize Israel... It is not required of Hamas, or of Fatah, or of the Popular Front to recognize Israel. Source: Palestinian Media WatchH/T: R.L.

Britain’s looniest radical Islamic group MPACUK comes out in favor of terrorist violence, and posts a video of Black Panther Stokely Carmichael to illustrate their point: MPACUK - Understanding The Philosophy Of Muslim Violence. MPACUK, unlike the many other Muslim groups out there, have not just pioneered the best solution against any terrorist attack in mainland Britain (i.e. get the mosques and ISOCs to teach democracy) but has now embarked in cutting through the media propaganda to reach British Muslims, and hopefully non-Muslims, and informing them of the true nature of Muslim violence.
We know it will get us in trouble with the media; make us targets for the government elites who want to hide this from you. We are prepared to pay the price. Most Muslim groups in the UK are still silent, or worse apologising, so they can get the ‘moderate’ medal of dishonour from their masters. We prefer the truth - no matter what they call us.
We realised that until the public understand why many in the Muslim world are reacting so violently to them, they will neither know the cause of the deaths of so many innocents on both sides or know how to solve it. We simply no longer feel that the most vocal parties who claim to be countering terrorism are sincere to the very cause they talk of.
We will no longer be part of the deliberate attempt to keep the public confused on the issue of terrorism. We will not be part of the apologetic Muslim leaders who blame their own community for terrorism. We will not condemn, nor allow ourselves to be condemned by governing elites who are more interested in a political stunt than saving lives. No more politics and propaganda when it comes terrorism - its the truth and nothing else.

The Muslim Brotherhood is at the vanguard of the stealth jihad. Tariq Ramadan is the grandson of its founder, Hasan Al-Banna, and enjoys an international reputation as a Muslim reformer. Some say, however, that he is anything but a reformer, and is merely a skilled practitioner of deception. See Caroline Fourest's book Brother Tariq for the evidence of that. In any case, Henrik R Clausen, the International Editor of EuropeNews, recently narrowly missed a chance to ask Tariq Ramadan some important questions. Here he provides some background on Ramadan and the Muslim Brotherhood, and some questions for Ramadan and other "reformers." Read more ...Source: Jihad Watch

A DuPage County grand jury indicted a Muslim student at Elmhurst College on suspicion she lied when reporting a masked gunman assaulted her on campus, hours after she spoke at a diversity rally urging tolerance.
Safia Z. Jilani, 19, of Oak Brook is expected to plead not guilty Monday when arraigned on a felony charge of filing a false police report. If convicted, she faces a possible sentence of probation or up to three years in prison.
Prosecutors said Jilani told police her assailant beat her with a pistol about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 after she entered a washroom in the Schaible Science Center, where the masked man had scribbled racial slurs on the walls.
One week earlier, she reported finding anti-Muslim slogans and a swastika written inside of her locker. She said the incident prompted her to speak at the Oct. 9 diversity rally, where she read a poem advocating peace and understanding despite the actions against her.
Police investigated both reports as a hate crime, which caused a stir on campus, but they ended up arresting Jilani one week later after accusing her of making up both allegations to garner attention.
A grand jury indicted Jilani Thursday, according to court records released Friday. She is free on bond pending Monday's arraignment before DuPage Circuit Judge Kathryn Creswell in Wheaton. Source: Daily HeraldSafia Z. Jilani Latest recipient of the Evil Dumbass Award
Safia Z. JilaniBy Abdur-Rahman Muhammad There has been great wailing and gnashing of teeth recently in the immigrant Muslim community about an alleged “terrorist attack” at a Dayton, Ohio mosque and another “attack” on a female Muslim college student in Chicago. From the way its been reported, one would have easily imagined that the weapons of mass destruction not found in Iraq had somehow made their way to Ohio to be unleashed on the mosque. Sensing a prime opportunity to play the victim card in their never ending campaign of propaganda, some Muslims charged that these “attacks” were the direct result of the explosive new documentary on radical Islam entitled Obsession, which very convincingly likens the jihadist agenda in western countries to Nazism. For the most part second generation immigrants- this crowd demanded to know why the media chose to ignore these outrageous ”hate crimes” against their community and why, for example, they are not accorded the same high profile status usually reserved for synagogue and church attacks. Its almost as if they believed that entire media apparatus should have suspended its round the clock coverage of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression in order to cover these alleged crimes. By Aaron Klein TEL AVIV – A mysterious explosion at a Hamas training facility in the Gaza Strip today occurred while terrorists were attempting to produce rockets that can hit further inside Israel, Hamas sources told WND. The explosion underscores the Gaza-based terrorists' utilization of a cease-fire agreed to with Israel last month to rearm, train and produce advance weaponry for use against Israel. "It is not really a period of rest. We have been training, receiving religious courses ... we've been producing weapons, working on smuggling everything that can reinforce us," said a senior terrorist in Gaza, speaking on condition his name be withheld. By Marylou Barry What is ISNA, and why do U.S. religious groups want to partner with it? First, a little background… The Islamic Society of North America, the largest group of its kind in this country, devotes several pages of its extensive Web site to its “partners,” the secular and religious organizations with which it claims to “dialogue” – and whose established reputation, understandably, could help ISNA earn some badly needed credibility points. Co-founded in 1981 by now-imprisoned felon Sami Al-Arian, ISNA serves as an umbrella for numerous Wahhabi Muslim groups in North America. It receives funding from the Saudi government and has been identified by the U.S. State Department as part of the Muslim Brotherhood, which also spawned Hamas. According to the New York Times it represents a third of the mosques in the United States, although Shia sources claim that 80 percent of U.S. mosques are currently under Saudi control. As long ago as 2003, terrorism expert Stephen Schwartz testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security that ISNA already was operating at least 324 mosques in the U.S. through the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). Sumayyah Meehan is a "Kuwait-based American writer who embraced Islam." In this article she transgresses somewhat against her Khaleej Times headline, "Why Islam rejects lying and deception in all forms," by detailing, quite accurately, the circumstances in which lying is permitted according to Islamic law -- including "in times of war." Which means now. Some Western analysts claim that taqiyya, which is essentially religious deception, is an exclusively Shi'ite practice that is not condoned by Sunnis -- and that only "Islamophobes" believe that any of it is going on today. Meehan here quotes a tradition of Muhammad that also appears in other hadith collections besides Tirmidhi, and is generally considered authentic by Sunni Muslim scholars. Will those analysts brand Meehan an "Islamophobe"? Read more ...Source: Jihad Watch
