This documentary on Islamic jihad aired on PBS in 1994, not without controversy either. That is significant because by 2007, dhimmitude and fear had swept over America and PBS would not even approve, let alone air a documentary titled ‘Islam v. Islamists’ (will post if we can find). A full 15 years, and several disastrous Islamic terror attacks and many more thwarted Islamic terror plots on U.S. soil, later, its message is still relevant today. This version was updated after 9/11 to include commentary before and after the original program that kicks in around the 5 minute mark and shows the video creator, Steve Emerson, speaking with the World Trade Centers in the background. An excellent look back for those who might think Islamic infiltration and terrorist planning in the United States is a recent development. Interestingly, Emerson – one of the most prolific researchers of Islamic terrorism – was pushing the ‘Islam does not condone violence’ (i.e., religion of peace) meme in 1994. Watch it here and Thanks to Creeping Sharia Check back tomorrow at Creeping Sharia for a most interesting and very telling anecdotal video to this documentary, with a twist you have to see to believe.
 When the president favorably quotes a Koranic passage popular among jihadists, the answer should be clear.By Raymond Ibrahim In a blog entry for Islamist Watch, David J. Rusin shows how the word “jihad” continues to be euphemized in the West. Despite Islamic law’s unequivocal portrayal of it as a military endeavor to empower Islam, jihad is still being peddled as “nothing more than a student laboring to pass algebra, a mom driving her kids to soccer practice, or, in the words of the Cambridge study, a civic-minded person engaged in ‘lobbying, activism, and writing’ — a community organizer of sorts.” Rusin concludes by observing: “Why Islamists peddle such specious definitions should be clear. More baffling and disturbing is why they gain traction among so many Westerners.” Indeed, therein lies the irony: Islamist perfidy is only to be expected; Western naivety, on the other hand, which, if anything, should have begun to dissipate in our post-9/11 world, has burgeoned to the point of nearly making the former unnecessary. For while there is no doubt that Islamists (and their misguided Western cronies) distort the meaning of jihad, increasingly, even when the true meaning is in plain sight, America’s leaders and media still fail to discern it. In other words, apathy — or willful blindness — regarding jihad has become so deep-seated in the West that Islamists need no longer actively dissemble. Consider: When President Barack Hussein Obama addressed the Islamic world from Cairo on June 4, 2009, he said: “As the Holy Koran tells us, ‘Be conscious of God and speak always the truth’ [Sura 9:119]. That is what I will try to do — to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us.” Let us for the moment put aside the fact that Sura 9, from whence Obama quotes, contains the most violent and intolerant exhortations in all the Koran (which is saying something). The problem here is that the original Arabic text of Sura 9:119 says absolutely nothing about “speaking the truth.” The word “speaking” is nowhere in the text, and “truth,” as an abstract, is a wrong translation for sadiqin, which refers to people. The verse most literally translates as “fear Allah and be with the truthful.” In other words, Muslims should stand firm with fellow Muslims (“truthful” serving as a Koranic epithet for “Muslims” the same way “believers” often does). It is, as ever, a call for divisiveness — of Muslims (the “truthful”) versus infidels (the “false”). Read more ... Source: PJM
“Might I ask, what has Omar Khadr got to
do with Eid or Ramadan or with Muslims?" Tarek Fatah - National Post The annual Muslim holiday of Eid has come and gone, and once more the community has been showered with messages from politicians tripping over one other to prove their credentials as lovers of Islam and all things Muslim.I have an offer to make to all these men and women who stumble and mumble to utter “Salaam Alaikum” messages written by their Muslim staffers: If you are so enamoured by my faith and impressed by the conduct of my community, then stop these annual shenanigans and once and for all come join our ranks. Convert to Islam. Perhaps, some have already taken the plunge. Take for example this year’s Eid message by Jack Layton. Addressing us Muslims as “Dear brothers and sisters” the NDP leader preaches the end of Ramadan “is an opportunity to renew the spirit and faith in Islam.”I am waiting with bated breath to see Layton “renew” his faith in Islam. One of the first casualties of political correctness is the fundamental principle of equality before the law — as we see in multiculti Britainistan, which demonstrates once again the injustice of hate crimes legislation: Police will be ordered not to charge Muslim extremists in many hate crime cases — to stop them becoming more militant. ...
Examples of crimes to which a blind eye may be turned include incitement to religious hatred … critics warned that the move could mean Islamic radicals being give the freedom to encourage violence. These racist critics fail to understand that when you punish Muslims for hate crimes, it only makes them more hateful. Helsinki District Court deliversverdict to Jussi Halla-aho: You shall not insult Islam and its prophet! It was to be expected. The Tundra Tabloids was asked just yesterday by someone living outside of Finland, what the outcome of the trial would be. Responding that it would be too close to tell, but the gut feeling however, was that most likely Jussi Halla-aho would receive a fine. That's was indeed the case, as the District court in Helsinki fined the City Councilman to pay 30 day fines amounting to 330 euros. This judgement by the Helsinki District Court violates the very essence of what "Freedom of Speech" stands for; the right to say out loud, that, what people do not want to hear. As an American who has been living in Finland for the past 22 years, I'm appalled at what just took place. The Finnish judicial system just violated the sacred right of every Finn to speak his or her mind freely, on any given subject, no matter how polite or offensive that speech might be. From now on, and in no unclear or uncertain terms, the Finnish state makes itself the sole arbitrator of what kind of speech in Finland is permissable and what is not. Big Brother has spoken. Prosecutor, Simo Kolehmainen, Chief Prosecutor, Jarmo Kalske, Prosecutor Mika Illman, Minster of Justice, Tuija Brax, you all are traitors to your country, and for that the Tundra Tabloids holds you all in contempt. So, it is the personal opinion of the owner of this blog, The Tundra Tabloids, that the central figure of Islam, the person that Muslims revere and worship around the world and here in Finland, their "prophet Mohammad", was in fact a pedophile by today's standards, and it's the continued intention of this blog to keep pointing out that fact, that the founder of Islam was indeed a pedophile, and that many of his faithful followers till this day, adhere to that institutionalized religious practice of Islamic inspired pedophilia. The Tundra Tabloids hopes that point was made clear. Everyone should fast for a day ‘to understand Muslims’, says Boris Johnson By taffyincanada September 4, 2009 Is it haram to for the mayor to be serving Londoners dhimmi soup during Ramadan?
Boris Johnson arrives at the East London Mosque with his Director of Communication Guto Harri this afternoon where he talked about the need for greater understanding of Muslims MailOnline… London Mayor Boris Johnson today encouraged people to undergo a day of fasting to help understand their ‘Muslim neighbour’. He said Muslims in the capital were ‘challenging traditional stereotypes’ to show they wanted to be part of the mainstream during a visit to the East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre. Mr Johnson’s visit coincided with the holy period of Ramadan in which participating Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. He said: ‘Whether it’s in theatre, comedy, sports, music or politics, Muslims are challenging the traditional stereotypes and showing that they are, and want to be, a part of the mainstream community. ‘That’s why I urge people, particularly during Ramadan, to find out more about Islam, increase your understanding and learning, even fast for a day with your Muslim neighbour and break your fast at the local mosque. ‘I would be very surprised if you didn’t find that you share more in common than you thought.’ He added: ‘Muslims are at the heart of every aspect of society. Their contribution is something that all Londoners benefit from. ‘Muslim police officers, doctors, scientists and teachers are an essential part of the fabric of London. ‘Islamic finance is contributing to the economy by changing the way Londoners invest, save, borrow and spend. ‘There are valuable lessons that people of all backgrounds can learn from Islam such as the importance of community spirit, family ties, compassion and helping those less fortunate, all of which lie at the heart of the teachings of Ramadan.’ Source: Vlad Tepes Blog
 How to strike fear into the heart of Yale University Press The absurdity of cringing dhimmitude and Fear of Offending Muslims reaches its apotheosis. "Yale Press Bans Images of Muhammad in New Book," by Patricia Cohen for the New York Times, August 12 It’s not all that surprising that Yale University Press would be wary of reprinting notoriously controversial cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in a forthcoming book. After all, when the 12 caricatures were first published by a Danish newspaper a few years ago and reprinted by other European publications, Muslims all over the world angrily protested, calling the images — which included one in which Muhammad wore a turban in the shape of a bomb — blasphemous. In the Middle East and Africa some rioted, burning and vandalizing embassies; others demanded a boycott of Danish goods; a few nations recalled their ambassadors from Denmark. In the end at least 200 people were killed. So Yale University and Yale University Press consulted two dozen authorities, including diplomats and experts on Islam and counterterrorism, and the recommendation was unanimous: The book, “The Cartoons That Shook the World,” should not include the 12 Danish drawings that originally appeared in September 2005. What’s more, they suggested that the Yale press also refrain from publishing any other illustrations of the prophet that were to be included, specifically, a drawing for a children’s book; an Ottoman print; and a sketch by the 19th-century artist Gustave Doré of Muhammad being tormented in Hell, an episode from Dante’s “Inferno” that has been depicted by Botticelli, Blake, Rodin and Dalí. The book’s author, Jytte Klausen, a Danish-born professor of politics at Brandeis University, in Waltham, Mass., reluctantly accepted Yale University Press’s decision not to publish the cartoons. But she was disturbed by the withdrawal of the other representations of Muhammad. All of those images are widely available, Ms. Klausen said by telephone, adding that “Muslim friends, leaders and activists thought that the incident was misunderstood, so the cartoons needed to be reprinted so we could have a discussion about it.” The book is due out in November. John Donatich, the director of Yale University Press, said by telephone that the decision was difficult, but the recommendation to withdraw the images, including the historical ones of Muhammad, was “overwhelming and unanimous.” The cartoons are freely available on the Internet and can be accurately described in words, Mr. Donatich said, so reprinting them could be interpreted easily as gratuitous. He noted that he had been involved in publishing other controversial books — like “The King Never Smiles” by Paul M. Handley, a recent unauthorized biography of Thailand’s current monarch — and “I’ve never blinked.” But, he said, “when it came between that and blood on my hands, there was no question.” The blood wouldn't be on your hands, Mr. Donatich. The blood would be on the hands of the murderous fanatical Muslims who might kill because of these cartoons. That would be on their heads, not yours. This is one of our biggest problems: we are letting irrational, bloodthirsty people dictate terms for us, and allowing them to displace their responsibility for their irrational, murderous actions onto us. Reza Aslan, a religion scholar and the author of “No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam,” is a fan of the book but decided to withdraw his supportive blurb that was to appear in the book after Yale University Press dropped the pictures. The book is “a definitive account of the entire controversy,” he said, “but to not include the actual cartoons is to me, frankly, idiotic.”... First time I've ever agreed with Reza Aslan, and probably the last. Source: JihadWatch
 By Faith J. H. McDonnell This weekend, as America celebrates its 233rd birthday, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an unindicted co-conspirator in the U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation prosecution, is celebrating “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Yes, the inalienable rights our Declaration of Independence calls “self-evident” are the theme of the Muslim Brotherhood-associated organization’s 46th annual convention, in Washington, DC, July 3-6, 2009. Certainly, understanding life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as Islamic values requires creativity. No problem there. Most non-Muslims, including influential and well-respected church leaders, seem to be in an ongoing state of suspension of disbelief, as well as suspension of belief, concerning Islam. This weekend ISNA’s convention will give some Christian leaders the opportunity to display the same sort of appeasement and dhimmitude that frequently accompanies Christian-Muslim dialogue. Hundreds of invited speakers will unpack the convention theme. One “sought after” speaker is the Artist Formerly Known as Cat Stevens. After his conversion to Islam, Stevens, now Yusuf Islam, joined the Ayatollah Khomeini in making author Salman Rushdie feel somewhat “sought after.” Allegedly defaming Islam obviously disqualified Rushdie to the right to life, so there go liberty and happiness. Islam (the man of peace, not the religion of peace) later qualified his call for Rushdie’s death, assuring the world that he did not want vigilante justice. He wanted a proper Islamic court trial, ending, as Islamic trials so frequently do, in execution. Read more ...Source: FPMISNA Latest recipient of the Distinguished Islamofascist Award
 By Ilan Weinglass Recent attempts by Britain to dialogue with Hizballah, and a planned address by Khaled Mashaal to Britsh MPs, may well be the result of a lobbying effort funded by the European Union. Jonathan Spyer, in an article yesterday, reports that The Conflicts Forum, which openly acknowledges attempts to legitimize Hamas and Hizballah, received a 500,000 Euro grant from the European Union in 2007. In other words, The EU is funding a group trying to change EU policy. Some excerpts from the article: A cursory observation of the backers of Conflicts Forum, however, reveals a curious paradox. In January 2007, the group proudly announced that it had been awarded a grant of €500,000 by the EU, to develop "more inclusive and legitimate approaches to transforming the Middle East conflict." More specifically, the project entails the "engagement" of "faith-based movements."
So the EU, while currently opposing "engagement" with Hamas, also appears to be offering financial support to a body engaged in lobbying for the organization. Source: The Terror Finance Blog

Magdi, Lisa’s husband, threatened to kill their daughter who had been raped by a man. Magdi, a practicing Muslim, believes that his daughter committed “Zena” (adultery). “Virulent” anti-Israeli rhetoric is behind a decision by a group representing French Jews not to renew dialogue with the French Muslim Brotherhood.An Israeli newspaper is reporting that the organization representing French Jews has decided not to renew dialogue with the French Muslim Brotherhood as a result of “virulent” anti-Israeli rhetoric. By Dr. Sami Alrabaa During his electoral campaign in 2008 Mr. Barack Obama said repeatedly that if he was elected president of the United States of America, he would talk to the Taliban. At the time, Obama’s rival, Ms. Hillary Clinton described Obama’s wish as “naïve and irresponsible”. Now she is Obama’s Secretary of State and has got to obey her boss. But is it really possible to appease the Taliban? First of all, the Taliban are a heterogeneous group of radical Muslims. Each group has got its own warlord, and rules a state within a state. But all of them want to impose the Shari’a law, a stone-age law, which is anti-women, against modernity, and anti-non-Muslims. The Taliban finance their local “empires” and weapons through drugs, force Afghans to pay Zakat (a kind of taxes), and blackmail development projects through “protection money”. Muhsen, an Afghan engineer (who does not want to be identified by his last name) and who works for the GTZ (a German development organization), told me during his last to Germany, where his parents live under an asylum status. By Johann Hari The right to criticize religion is being slowly doused in acid. Across the world, the small, incremental gains made by secularism -- giving us the space to doubt and question and make up our own minds -- are being beaten back by belligerent demands that we "respect" religion. A historic marker has just been passed, showing how far we have been shoved. The UN rapporteur who is supposed to be the global guardian of free speech has had his job rewritten -- to put him on the side of the religious censors. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights stated sixty years ago that "a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief is the highest aspiration of the common people." It was a Magna Carta for mankind -- and loathed by every human rights abuser on earth. Today, the Chinese dictatorship calls it "Western", Robert Mugabe calls it "colonialist", and Dick Cheney calls it "outdated." The countries of the world have chronically failed to meet it -- but the document has been held up by the United Nations as the ultimate standard against which to check ourselves. Until now. Geoff Elliott, Washington correspondent | March 09
BARACK Obama has embarked on a radical reversal of Washington's approach to the Middle East in a series of developments over the weekend that add to the ambitious reach of policy changes for the US President.
Following Washington's new stance in Iraq and the decision to withdraw forces from the country by the end of August next year, Mr Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced in the space of 48 hours a series of diplomatic shifts to unwind years of the Bush administration's policies towards the region:
*The US military said last night that 12,000 American troops would leave Iraq by September, marking an acceleration of the timetable for US withdrawal.
* Mr Obama flagged negotiations with some of the Taliban tribes in Afghanistan;
* Ms Clinton invited Iran to participate in a regional conference as part of a strategic review of the situation in Afghanistan;
* The White House dispatched two envoys to hold talks with Syria yesterday;
* Ms Clinton opened a broad diplomatic engagement with Russia at a meeting with her counterpart in Geneva as part of Washington's push to try to end Moscow's support for Iran.
The regional diplomatic effort, which will involve Mr Obama travelling to Turkey early next month -- Ankara has offered some qualified support for Iran's nuclear program -- makes good on his campaign promises.
But it worries Arab and Israeli leaders, who already question whether Mr Obama is making too many concessions to Iran, while eastern Europeans feel the same about the dramatic reversal in tone of the relations between Washington and Moscow.
"We are being extremely vigorous in our outreach because we are testing the waters, we are determining what is possible, we're turning new pages and resetting buttons, and we are doing all kinds of efforts to try to create more partners and fewer adversaries," Ms Clinton said of her talks and travels through the region last week.
Mr Obama told The New York Times yesterday he was open to a reconciliation process in which the US military would reach out to moderate elements of the Taliban, in a similar way to the engagement of US forces with the Sunni militias in Iraq.
Declaring that the US was not winning in Afghanistan, and noting Washington's successful strategy in Iraq to win the support of insurgents there, Mr Obama said: "There may be some comparable opportunities in Afghanistan and in the Pakistani region."
He acknowledged the approach might not yield the same success. "The situation in Afghanistan is, if anything, more complex," he said. "You have a less-governed region, a history of fierce independence among tribes. Those tribes are multiple and sometimes operate at cross-purposes, and so figuring all that out is going to be much more of a challenge."
Iran yesterday responded positively to Ms Clinton's plans to invite Tehran to a likely March 31 meeting on Afghanistan -- the first overture of this kind to Iran from the US in years.
"The US and global powers have realised that the issues in Afghanistan cannot be solved without the presence of the Islamic republic," said Gholam Hossein Elham, a spokesman for the Iranian Government.
Ms Clinton made much at the weekend of hitting the "reset" button with Moscow during meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The two discussed a new arms treaty and how to deal with Iran's nuclear program. While Tehran says this is for civilian purposes, Washington and its allies believe the program is a front for nuclear weapons technology. It remains a foreign policy problem for the Obama administration, as it was for George W.Bush.
Signs of renewed diplomacy were also seen in Damascus yesterday at the first high-level talks between US and Syrian officials in more than four years.
Senior State Department official Jeffrey Feltman and White House national security official Dan Shapiro met Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem.
Mr Feltman said the US wanted to see "forward momentum" on peace talks between Syria and Israel, and said Syria could help Middle East stability.
"We found a lot of common ground," Mr Feltman said. Source: The Australian
 THE HAGUE, 10/02/09 - Kolenkit in Amsterdam is according to the government the number one 'problem district' in the Netherlands. The largest number of districts where people would rather not go are in Rotterdam.
In 2007, the housing ministry selected 40 districts throughout the Netherlands to be transformed in the next eight years from 'problem districts' to 'dream districts.' The government did give the names of the districts but refused to disclose the ranking order of the Top 40.
The Top 20 of this list has now been obtained by RTL Nieuws and been published by this TV programme. There are eight Rotterdam districts in the Top 20. Nonetheless, an Amsterdam district heads the secret ranking order: Kolenkit, in the west of the capital.
The problem districts in the Top 20 are characterised by a high density of government-owned housing, high unemployment, crime, nuisance by youngsters, and many immigrants. In Kolenkit, 80 percent of the residents are immigrants.
RTL Nieuws made a call on the Openness of Government Act (WOB) a year and a half ago to get the ranking order made public. The Council of State, the highest administrative court, however forbade this, ruling that making it public would be stigmatising.
Nonetheless, RTL Nieuws has decided to make the information public based on the principle that the public has the right to be informed on government policy. "Everyone can then judge for themselves what is happing with the spending of taxpayers' money and whether this is having an effect. No political goings-on in backrooms, just let people judge for themselves," was the chief editorial statement.
Kolenkit in Amsterdam is followed by the Rotterdam districts of Pendrecht, Oude Noorden and Bloemhof. Fifth comes Ondiep (Utrecht), followed by Rivierenwijk (Deventer), Spangen (Rotterdam), Oude Westen (Rotterdam), Heechterp/ Schieringen (Leeuwarden) and Noord-Oost (Maastricht). Source: NIS
Tuck in: Sgt Steve Carley of 16 Air Assault Brigade tastes one of the new rations packs to be tested by troops on front-line operations in AfghanistanFront-line British troops will see traditional biscuits brown and corned beef replaced with new products in their ration packs under a trial scheme starting this summer. More than 300,000 new 24-hour Multi-Climate Rations (MCR) will be deployed to troops featuring pasta lunchtime pouches, cookies and energy bars. The trial will also include the introduction of 20 new menus for general use, plus six new menus for vegetarian, Halal and Sikh/Hindu dietary requirements. The contents of the new ration packs have been influenced by feedback from troops from all three services, including soldiers who have experienced eating the traditional ration packs for long periods. Defence Equipment Minister Quentin Davies said: 'One of the most important requirements is to provide increased variety to troops operating for long periods on rations, which will help reduce menu fatigue. 'These new menus have been developed to meet the needs of service personnel operating in the extreme climates of Afghanistan and Iraq, providing them with a wider range of nutritionally balanced meals.' Food selection panels were conducted in May last year to select products for the new packs and included soldiers from the Household Calvary Regiment. Dhimmi Police (Photoshop by KGS)By Baron Bodissey I reported last month about the aggressive and threatening counter-demonstration to a pro-Israel rally that took place in Malmö in southern Sweden. The (mostly Muslim) counter-demonstrators threw rocks, bottles, and fireworks at the peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators, while the police did nothing significant to try to stop them. Now Ted Ekeroth reports that the manifest indifference of law enforcement to multicultural violence was no accident - the police were under orders not to interfere. According to the newspaper Skånska Dagbladet, a police officer says that the police assigned to the rally were ordered not to do anything against the pro-Arab mob, no matter how aggressive they became. He said, “There were no plans to intervene against the counter-demonstrators. The only area to be evacuated if there was a situation was the area where the pro-Israeli rally had been given in front of the Town Hall.” Read more ...Source: Gates of Vienna
 By Cassandra & Circe Our police do a great job. They are the thin blue line between law and anarchy. But is their ability to apply the law impartially being compromised by instructions from on high to comply with Islamic sensitivities? On Sunday 18th January, Friends of Palestine organised a march through Melbourne CBD. There was a very small police presence, which stood by while serious criminal acts were being committed. Police failed to enforce our laws relating to hatred and incitement to violence (see Tots for Genocide). Those inciting violence by text on banners or clothing were not apprehended. If this mob rule isn’t stopped now, it will progress to actual violence on our streets, as regularly happens in Europe – just look at the Paris intifada! Are there no limits? Does the law apply equally to all or not? Calling for mass genocide goes far beyond even the unacceptable incitement to violence. A line has been crossed: the people responsible must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Cultural sensitivity must not only apply to Muslims. Decent Australians are appalled at the death threats to fellow citizens, which, if allowed to go unprosecuted, will be extended to all non-Muslims - after all, we’re all infidels! Boy Scouts in Dundee will be able to pledge allegiance to ‘Allah’ and drop the traditional oath to God and Queen, says the Scout Association in Scotland. The Association has given its backing to starting Dundee’s 45th troop which will specifically target Muslim boys. In the oath Muslim recruits will be able to replace the name ‘God’ with “Allah, the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful”, and pledge to honour “the country in which I am now living” instead of the Queen. The Scout Association is already open to all faiths and Muslim boys are currently part of existing troops, but according to the Association they are aware of some who might be opposed to the traditional pledge.
