A woman who lost her unborn baby in a car crash in Dubai has been convicted of manslaughter.
The court ruled that the 27-year-old woman, who was nine months pregnant at the time of the crash, was driving recklessly and did not keep a safe distance from the car in front.
The Dubai Traffic Court ordered the woman to pay more than $7,000 to the unborn child's family and fined her $700 for unintentional homicide.
The judge says he based the verdict on sharia law.
